If you want to enjoy the core touristic area of Manhattan, this is the spot. Small rooms, very pricy at times but you are in the centre of the world. You can walk anywhere from there and the subway stop is on the corner.

You have to contact the hotel directly to get the correct answer but I suppose one should have passed the age of consent in USA

You can buy several different ways, we bought single trip passes per person because we only needed it for the day. Try MTA/New York City Transit - Fares and MetroCard for metro pass info.

A sky view is a view south of the city, south of 35th St. A city view is of Manhattan and the Empire State Building, basically north of 35th St.
