I selected Pod39 for its proximity to many of the attractions in NYC and Grand Central Station. Needing just somewhere to crash after a busy day, this hotel fitted the bill perfectly. I had a bunk Pod, for my son and I, which was essentially a bunk bed in a room with a table and a bathroom with shower and sink. There's a safe for your valuables etc so you don't need to take them with you. Despite its smaller dimensions there was easily enough room for us to share, it was clean and tidy and well maintained. The room was serviced every day and quiet through the night. The staff were helpful, friendly and even looked after our cases after checkout during our last day. I'd highly recommend it.
Do you hang out in your hotel room when you visit NYC? Most answer no which is why you should stay at Pod 39! Can’t beat location, cozy clean room, and best of all your wallet will be happy. All Pods are good, liked this one the best!
Good value for the money, but don't expect lots of extras. Rooms are small, but functional and well-designed. Easy walk to Grand Central Station and anywhere in mid-town. Lots of places to eat within just a few blocks.
Extremely rude staff. My third time here (first time post-pandemic), and I cant believe the current receptionists (not all, but more than one) are working in hospitality and guest service. Such a shame, I stayed in Pod twice in 2019 and had only good experiences before this trip.
The stay at Pod 39 was great. The service was good. The room was clean. The location was perfect. The free morning coffee was appreciated. Overall, it was value for money in comparison with other hotels in the same area.
First time staying at the POD39. Loved the communal feel and location. Easy access to Grand Central station. Walking distance to 42nd street (in good weather). Efficient and clean rooms. Cleaning staff was great. Oh, almost forgot to mention, they have great pastries for sale from 7a-11a and coffee is always free. The bed was ok.
The location in the core of Manhattan is perfect to enjoy the best of New York. You can walk everywhere or take the subway. Rooms are essential but clean and comfortable. It's very quiet during the night. There is a cozy lobby where you can sit drinking coffee for free in the morning. The staff is incredibly helpful. They let me in with my cat even though they usually accept only dogs. Moreover, they helped me out with everything. I will definitely come back.
We had a nice stay here while in Manhattan for an event. The hotel is conveniently located near subway stations, Grand Central, and has good food options. The staff were nice and helpful. The rooms are super small, but clean and well organized. The lobby is nice and the lounge at the back is cute. Check out the balancing on the 17th floor for great views.
Lovely spot in midtown and walking distance to centre of city. Of course the room size is small but it is very comfortable if you are anyway going to be out and about. I will highly recommend it if you are a looking for in a budget place.
(+) Location, bed’s confort, cleanliness, value for money, entertainment’s space, the bar with free coffee (-) no welcoming from the staff members, no storage in the room, no little fridge, air conditioning noisy
