Good points: location, kitchen, house keeping.
Bad points: no where to sit and eat, which completely made the option of self catering a nonsense. There is a breakfast bar of sorts but the chairs provided were for a dining height table and were really filthy....More
Location - Great
Room - Enough. Small, but has everything you need. Clean.
The Bean - Cool place. Can definitely see how some people find it noisy. Ear plugs in the room for a reason. If you like quiet don't stay in the 2nd floor....More
We booked the East Village Hotel for a week in September to explore NYC.
Before leaving for the USA we had read some mixed reviews, and were a little concerned about what we would find.
On our arrival we realised there was NOTHING to worry...More
A lot of reviews talk about the noise from the street, but we didn't find that a problem at all. We were in Room 1, so close to the junction of 1st Ave and E 9th St, but never really noticed the noise. There is...More
This was perfect for us! Comfortable, clean, looks exactly like the photos (which is nearly never the case).

Good Afternoon Chloe R.,

There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to
wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.

The hotel does not have a lot or underground parking of its own. And I do not recall any lots in the immediate area. The East Village is notorious for being a challenging to park in. As much as I really like this property, if you need to park a car every day, this might not be the best choice for you.
