This hotel is right next to the subway station, and is within 5 minutes of several other subway lines so it is fantastic for getting around either uptown or downtown. The decor is quite dated and pretty basic, though this generally may not matter for most people visiting NYC - you pretty much only sleep in your room and that's...

Great staff at check-in, very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, small and fine for a couple of nights. In a great spot in downtown Manhattan. Check out is early at 11:00 hrs but there is a wash room you can use and you can leave your cases if you still have the day to spend in NY. More than...

Spent 4 nights here on a solo trip to NYC, it is in a great location for exploring downtown, the subway is literally on the doorstep and the staff were extremely helpful. I had a single room with a very comfy bed, of course the room wasnt huge, but there was plenty of space for my suitcase, a spotlessly clean...

Nestled right between Soho and Chinatown, The Soho Garden is a great place to perch for a couple of days. The rooms are small but very clean and very well appointed with safes, coffee makers (and supplies), TV, radio, a nice bathroom an shower, good lighting and a small desk and chair. The front desk is manned 24/7 and the...

For the price I paid (around $150/night including taxes) in the city, it's a very decent deal. The room I got was clean: carpet, bedding, bathroom and towels. You have to ask the front desk if you want the room temp. to be changed, but they did it as soon as I asked. I've lived a year in a dorm...

As a budget option, I can't recommend this place enough. My room wasn't huge and wasn't "fancy" but it was big enough and very bright and pleasant. The beds were extremely comfortable, the wifi was good and the location is great if you want to spend time in the Lower East Side or Chelsea where the hotels can be a...

At around $200 a night to be on the edge of Soho, this place was pretty good value. I was lucky enough to get a 9th floor room which was quite large, so I didn't suffer with noise of claustrophobia as some previous residents appear to have done. The wifi was good and easy to connect to, no drop in...

We were on the 9th floor so it was nice and quiet, but Canal street is very busy and I imagine if you were on a lower floor, it would be fairly noisy. Clean room with the basic facilities, bed was very comfortable and the free Wifi generally worked. Friendly reception staff. The subway station is RIGHT NEXT to the...

What a great location! Subway just outside the front door. The room we got was a corner room, so it was a bit weird, but big! Price was awesome, but cleanliness was so so. Check under the bed! Staff was friendly and helped us out when we needed it.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
