it isn't without its faults. The rooms are TINY, but that is typical of any NYC hotel and you learn to deal with it. The rooms are clean and that is always our main concern. What I did not care for, and I am unsure of their cleaning policy (that is on me) but they cleaned the room on the day after we arrived and did not clean it afterwards before we left on Monday. So, if that is SOP, then I take it back. The beds and pillows were amazingly comfortable;we had a Kingsize. They do make the most of the space you do have. There was a false bottom window seat where we could store our luggage and a stand-up shelf unit with drawers for our items. Make sure you unpack and you will feel different about the size of the room as there is plenty of storage despite some close quarters areas. The bathroom had high end towels and toiletries but why low end toilet tissue I am unsure. There was a large TV and ample room lighting. One negative was the drafty window so we kept the shade down to block the draft. The heating system seemed weird and I could never get the room temperature quite right. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was an on-site restaurant which we did not use. The coffee bar was OK but walk to the end of the block and you have a nice little light breakfast place or three blocks to Best Bagel. The location was convenient and we had little difficulty in getting anywhere. It was four blocks from Penn Station and four blocks to the nearest subway entry. .Safety is not an issue as you need a key to access the elevators and merely to touch the pad to get an elevator up or down. I questioned a part of the "room hold" and got a good efficient answer from the front desk. Overall, an excellent stay for us, returning to our old haunts in New York as we haven't been able to travel back "home" for quite a while. We would recommend this hotel and definitely stay again. …
Upon arrival to this beautiful hotel we were welcomed by amazing staff Aaron and Arthur. The hotel is so pleasant and extremely clean with a great modern twist. The hospitality of Arthur and Aaron are above and beyond from the minute we entered the hotel lobby. They met and exceeded my expectations from the moment we arrived to this hotel. All respect for these guys at the reception , they are doing an amazing job here , a true sample of hospitality. Will definitely write another review for the hotel , since we just checked in, but definitely wanted to give my highest thanks to these guys after my warmest welcome here ! Excellent hotel with the amazing staff!
Alex at checking was fantastic 💙 The room was spotless and had an incredible view. We would absolutely stay here again. Great location in the heart of midtown. 15 minutes to Time Square. 20 minutes to Rockefeller Center.
Alex at the front desk was amazing and very welcoming. Explained all the details. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was spectacular, great pressure. The roof top had amazing views of the city.
We stayed for 5 nights at the Arlo Midtown it was our second stay here. We can't fault the hotel for its location, comfy beds and cleanliness. We travelled with my two teenage daughters who also loves the hotel and especially enjoyed the views from the rooftop bar although the rooms were small the beds are comfy and very clean. We had some issues with billing though which although caused us some stress was dealt with by the Amazing Sydney, he couldn't do enough for us to help resolve the issues and for that we are so grateful it made all the difference to us. Thank you Sydney !
Always a wonderful time at Arlo Midtown!! Wonderful, courteous staff.. always willing to help!! Love the beds and ambiance!! The atmosphere in Nearly Ninth is amazing!! A wonderful trip with my granddaughter!! We will be back !!
You can't beat this location. You are in the middle of it all. We arrived early AM, and though there was a room available, they charge you an extra $40 to check-in early. However, the staff were kind and courteous. I even needed tampons, and they were able to deliver a few to my room. They were also able to arrange a car service to the airport, and called our room when it arrived. The rooftop had wonderful views. Cocktails were just OK. The cocktails at the 1st floor bar/restaurant were great though, and being able to grab a coffee on our way out at the Cafe by the lobby was convenient and good. I am interested in checking out the ARLO hotels next time.
Angie was the best at the front desk! Thanks for your outstanding customer service and help! Got to the room and everything was clean and tidy. Very nice hotel with cafe and bar downstairs. Will be back soon!
Great location, great ambience. The room was nice and good use of a small space. The set up of the elevators was really good, never have I seen something like that and we never waited for an elevator. Alex at the front desk checked us in and checked us out, he was extremely friendly and funny and remembered who we were throughout our stay, thanks to clever movie references he came up with at check in.
This was my second time staying at Arlo Midtown, and it has honestly been one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. They are very kind, very clean, the rooms are small, but that’s to be expected in New York City, it’s in a really good area, the water gets really hot, the shower pressure is really good From LaGuardia it’s about a 30 to 45 minute bus and train ride By car it’s maybe 25 to 30 minutes I will be visiting again.
