I chose the Library Hotel primarily because of its location near Fifth Avenue shopping and the Broadway theatre district for a recent quick one-night visit to NYC. I was immediately charmed by the warm welcome I received when I arrived in the morning. Invited to store my bags, I checked out the second-floor lounge and was offered a cup of... More

The service was great. I came in very late from the west coast and the two men on duty tried hard to find me some food. The room was fine - nice amenities, very comfortable bed. TVs could be updated and, like many hotels in NY, the room was on the small side (I had a delux queen). The breakfast/snack... More

... and that is not common in NYC. The library is an amazingly welcoming, cozy, and understate de-lux heaven in a perfectly well communicated midtown location. We stayed in a junior suite with our small daughter in the 9th floor and all was just remarkably fine: the size, shape and looks of the room, the magnificent bed, the also really... More

This was our 4th stay at the Library Hotel this year. Very convenient location, always sparkling clean and attentive staff make this our favorite place to stay in New York. The smaller size, open lounge with beverages available all day, continental breakfast and evening wine and cheese helps make this hotel feel like home.

You just can't beat the service and staff at this hotel! The room was always made up and towels refreshed each day and the continental breakfast and all-day coffee service and snacks was a welcome feature. The wine and cheese each day was a particularly pleasant experience. Nice after a day about town!

We checked in early and found this was no problem at all - we were welcomed warmly and invited to have breakfast and coffee. What a lovely surprise - this is almost unheard of at any hotel around the world and created a wonderful first impression. The staff know what service is about, very friendly and informative. We loved the... More

If you love books then this will be the icing on the cake for your stay, as book filled bookcases are everywhere. Plus it's a skip away from the beautiful Schwarzman building of the New York Public Library. So let's talk about the hotel. Is it a centrally located oasis in the city? Yes. Does it have beautiful, welcoming, well... More

Great location, right in the middle of Manhattan. All the personnel were friendly and cooperative. Two issues were that the first two sets of key cards didn't work. The first time I had to go back to the front desk who apologized and made a new set. The second time they came up with a third set (a worker had... More

We have just returned from a 9 night stay at this hotel and it was a wonderful experience !! All of the staff are friendly and professional, and over the course of our longer stay we got to know several a little better. The reading room on the second floor is the venue for breakfast, complimentary evening wine/cheese/nibbles from 5pm... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
