Tucked along the western edges of Chelsea, New York, the center of the art world and home to hundreds of galleries, Hotel Americano’s 56 rooms inhabit one of the city’s last slices of authenticity, a few city blocks where creativity still thrives. A modern approach to the boutique hotel, travelers will find our array of restaurant, bar, pool & event space options the ideal spot for a memorable New York City experience. Designed by NY-based, Mexican-born architect, Enrique Norten, our 10 story boutique hotel is veiled in stainless steel mesh that dissolves at night into a diaphanous, glowing curtain. Inside the accommodations, you’ll find a mix of our favorite influences-Latin, Japanese, French and mid-century American represented in timeless materials and warm minimalism, including hardwood, black glass, concrete and marble. A rooftop deck and plunge pool cap off our wrap-around river-to-skyline views where everything feels possible.

Neighbourhood
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.

The hotel is located in Chelsea. It was great for our visit to the Whitney museum - walking there on the Highline which is right at the hotel. The room has design maybe influenced by Japanese style. The bed is basically a mattress on the floor. Which was all fine for us . The

If you want different, this is it. We chose it for the location near galleries in Chelsea. Right by the Hi Line Park. Vibe is industrial chic. Small room with the mattress on the floor. Well not quite on the floor. Halfnthe floor is poured cement (no carpeting). The

We love the location and the room is also comfortable. We were shocked on our day of arrival that they were overbooked though and had to wait for the receptionist to get a room for us at another hotel. Frankly we were upset initially but we could see that the receptionist was

I sort of felt like I was staying at a upscale youth hostel. The mattress was on the floor and all of the furniture in the room was very low to the ground and super hipster (meaning not very comfortable, but I am sure lots of selfies are taken in the room). The room was in a

Rbohlin, Thanks so much for choosing us while you visited NYC. We are sorry that our decor was not to your liking. We are in an area where there is occasionally construction noise as Hudson Yards is rising by the day. We appreciate your kind words about the team and want to thank you for reviewing us.

Found this hotel a couple of years ago via SPG. I stay here on business as my office is a short walk down the High Line walkway (~1/2 mile) and Hotel Americano is less than a block from a High Line stairway.Clean, super modern, minimal, this place is everything I love about

If you would like to join us during the day, you can buy a pool pass at the front desk for $40 per person. Let me know if you have any other questions.
