This is an older hotel in a great location with good rates for the area. I got a Penn 5000, which are the rooms that have been renovated. Definitely worth the extra $20 or so. When I first checked in I was given a really disgusting room with peeling paint, gouges on the wall, large cracks in bathtub, etc, etc....

An absolutely appalling filthy hotel with rude unhelpful staff! Check in takes an age due to lack of staff. They have electronic check in but this only works for 60% of customers. Mine failed twice clearly because the machine had run out of plastic keys, the IT guy claimed it was because my card was not authorised. This was rubbish...

I've stayed here multiple times -- it's very basic but functional. But for the first time, they charged me a $21 "accommodation fee" over and above the room charge and taxes. I asked the what this was for and got no real answer. This is unacceptable.

An older and typical New York City hotel. Good rates, very good location, rude service. Can't beat the price for the location though. If cost is an issue - it is worth the trade offs. If your expectations are large updated rooms - you will have problems with most hotels in NYC unless you are prepared to pay a premium....

there is a coffee shop in front of the reception open 24 hours. During the morning there is a female manager who told me twice WE DON'T NEED YOUR MONEY just because I asked for cup with hot water and of course to pay for it. I think it's a shame and even her colleague felt the same and apologize...

After reading absolutely horrific reviews before coming here, me and my 2 other friends were dreading our stay. We had read that check in took a while, luckily when we arrived there was no queue so check in was fine for us, however, a couple of times when we had been down to the lobby the queues were pretty long!...

I had low expectations arriving at this hotel after reading reviews but still I was disappointed. The rooms are filthy and the hotel in all in so much need of renovations. Make time for check in because the line was long and few staff. The only positive thing is where it's situated. Never again.

There is a fast an effective check-in service but please inquire about the free wifi as you will need a code. In New York, location is the key. Rooms are extremely...

Hotel needs major updating, mattress was worst I've ever slept on, a/c not working and room was hot and stuffy. Room was clean but walls and baseboards in need of repair and again a/c unit. Lobby needs update including adding charging areas for electronic devises especially during long wait times for checking in/out. Forget calling 0 from your room because...
