Wanted to try the Sofitel after reading so many amazing reviews of the hotel on Tripadvisor. Arrived on time for 4 pm check-in but the room was still not ready. they offered us two free drinks at the bar while we waited. The two of three wine samples from a tasting menu were very bad as if they had been...

This is a nice hotel, good value for NYC, and a terrific location. We stayed over Christmas. The rooms are relatively small but hey its New York. The walls need sound proofing as we could hear the people in the next room talking. The food was only average. The concierge was very helpful. The hotel has a small but satisfactory...

We stayed at this hotel 5-10 February. Rooms were very clean ,comfortable and a good size for a New York Hotel. From the moment we checked in the service was faultless, on arriving at our room I noticed there were no tea/coffee facilities. I asked if it would be possible to have a kettle, within 5 minutes a kettle arrived...

SOFITEL is only 2 blocks off of Times Square, close enough to feel like you are right in the center of the action and far enough away to enjoy a quiet night sleeping. The staff is very professional and there to help you without being intrusive. ARRIVAL: You are greeted by a Bellman and taken into the hotel where you...

The hotel was recommended by well-travelled friends who are very particular about where they stay. This hotel defines the term "hidden gem", great location, beautifully finished, attentive staff and atmosphere of tranquillity in the middle of NYC. Dollar for dollar this can't be beaten, all parts of hotel were immaculate. We really couldn't find fault here. My only concern is...

Just coming back from a new stay at Sofitel Manhattan. This time, I had a “superior” room (which is in fact the cheapest, I guess), level 6, and was a bit surprised of some traces of tear & wear, mainly on the doors. And again, I gave up in the queue to access the Concierge. Maybe the management will add...

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have always had wonderful service . The rooms are always clean and comfortable and a good size. I love the location, easy to walk up to Times Square or along 5th Ave. to the Park.

For the money, probably NYC is not a great value, but at the Sofitel, this is the second time i have been there and i find the rooms to be tiny. Internet this time was spotty at best, non-existant at times. There is no coffee in the rooms - personal hangup there. Very clean, staff very professional, but not what...

My wife and I stayed at the Sofitel for 4 nights for a long winter weekend getaway. The hotel is very classy, and the rooms are very fresh, clean and nice albeit on the medium/smaller side. I called ahead to ask the concierge to order and deliver fresh flowers to the room for my wife and they did a great...

I've stayed in Sofitels all over the world. The chain is great, and this particular Sofitel is, in my opnion, one of the best in the chain. Every detail is attended to, every courtesy extended. Arriving there after a flight across the US, or the Atlantic, feels like coming home. Now, if I could just convince them to put the...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
