Nestled near Times Square, The Pearl Hotel is celebrated for its prime location that remains a tranquil retreat amidst the city bustle. Guests rave about the attentive service and the generous room amenities, including a 24/7 coffee station and a much-loved complimentary wine hour.
While offering spacious, clean rooms that provide good value, some guests feel the breakfast and use of disposable utensils could be improved. Despite these concerns, the hotel's restful ambiance and boutique charm consistently impress travelers.

Detailed Reviews
We found this hotel purely by chance after looking on the internet. We had originally booked in to another hotel (for 4 nights) but checked out after 1 night and moved to The Pearl. On arrival at The Pearl we were met with someone opening the door and immediately taking our luggage and put on a luggage trolley. We then went to reception desk and were welcomed warmly. After explaining our situation (our disastrous first nights accommodation) and why we had booked The Pearl (full sized beds) the manager explained that we would be better in a different room with queen sized beds and a walk in shower. He moved us to this room without any hesitation or additional costs. Breakfasts were served by in small kitchen/diner restaurant next door (inter-connecting door from hotel) which were very lovely and fresh. Good selection and the staff were lovely and friendly. On checkout from the hotel, we stored our luggage and this was completely free of charge. Location was great, rooms good size (if you want UK double bed, request queen size bed in NY) and actually had a microwave, coffee machine, small sink, iron & board, safe (all FOC). Complimentary refreshment bar behind reception, where you can get free tea/coffee/water/cookies/crisps. Highly recommend this hotel to any visitors to NYC. Excellent hotel and fabulous, friendly staff. Would definitely return.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and certainly plan to make this our new first choice when visiting the city. It is perfectly located in the theater district making virtually everything an easy walk. We were in a Superior King room and were impressed with the spacious interior and the minimal street noise associated with the central location. Room darkening curtains made sleeping in a breeze. The restaurant attached to the hotel serves fabulous food as well, meeting all of our needs and ensuring a grand family trip.

Just finished my first stay at The Pearl which had been recommended to me several times in the past. I stayed because the rate was unusually low and a great value. The room was very comfortable, a bit larger than the average NYC hotel room. The bathroom, too, was roomy. The staff was consistently on point, friendly and able to answer any questions I had. As opposed to the bigger, corporate hotels, you walk into the stylish, cozy lobby with a desk manned by one or two employees which I liked. Also a plus - 24 hour coffee/tea/snacks available in the lobby.

+1
I had my eye on this hotel for a while, as I’ve read great reviews and the website has some fabulous pictures and attributes. I’m a discerning consumer, and we usually stay at the Michelangelo on W 51st as it caters to families and offers spacious rooms at a decent price. However, I took a chance and booked here for a night with my daughter just before Christmas. I booked a ‘deluxe’ double room for a few hundred dollars for one night. Here is the lowdown...
Positives:
Location....very important, and this fits the bill if you want to be in proximity to Rockefeller, Times Square or various Broadway shows.
The breakfast next door was a little different and we liked the variety....pastries, french toast and even avocado toast. Definitely a step up from the usual continental offerings.
Negatives:
The room was standard, blah, nothing ‘deluxe’ about it to justify the pricing. We’ve had better at the Holiday Inn. Sure, a mini fridge and microwave were included, but isn’t that generally the standard at any hotel anymore? A bottle of Voss on the counter will set you back $8, and the main TV was small. The bathroom was a disaster and ill-conceived. Small counter, large toilet with 2 TP holders (one of which was right next to the bathtub). A small TV was in the bathroom, although it faced the toilet and made no sense for watching it anywhere else as the bathtub faucet was on the wrong side to view the TV while taking a bath. Detail obviously was overlooked when designing these rooms.
The advertised ‘24-hr snack and drink’ counter on 2nd floor is false advertising, as this was not open or stocked in the morning during our stay. Seems to be open at various times only. Or perhaps their staff just weren’t attentive to this.
The staff was polite, yet curt. For a hotel that seems to get such accolades, the interactions with the front desk and valet personnel came across as apathetic, bored and perhaps overwhelmed. Not impressed.
For a night, we survived. Live and learn, I suppose. Will be staying elsewhere next time. Just not enough here to warrant their star rating or have us as return customers.

Our room was clean, decent size. It was nice having a coffee maker, small refrigerator and small microwave in the room. Great location - we walked to theaters, Times Square, Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping. Breakfast was included and the rate also included drinks and snacks that were available all the time in a room off of the lobby. The staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel is a few steps from the best things NYC has to offer! We could walk to 5th Av for shopping, to central park for a nice walk, to the Museum of Natural History and even Times Square (if you are into it :) ). Fransisco, the bellman, made sure to book us a car with car seats (not easy in NYC). The airplane landed at 1 AM instead of 8 PM and the driver was waiting outside (a lifesaver). My family had a few rooms in the Hotel and the front desk helped coordinate between the family members and were very helpful when needed. Finally, for an NYC room, ours was VERY spacious. We have 2 kids and had plenty of space in the room to handle them.

My mom and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend getaway at The Pearl! We were in town to see a Broadway show, so staying in the Theater District was ideal. The Pearl's location is unparalleled if you're seeking the center of the Big Apple. Yet you won't be sacrificing comfort when you're ready to call it a day—I didn't hear a thing all night. I was on the fifth floor, so I imagine the higher-up from the street you are, the quieter it gets, so request a room on one of the top floors if this is a concern. Everything was sparkling clean (even the floors of the lobby, which were somehow spotless and dry despite us arriving on a very rainy day). We had a little suite that had three TVs (three!), a kitchenette, ultra-comfortable beds, crisp sheets and towels, and a great view of 49th. I especially appreciated the L'Occitane products in the bathroom, as I forgot my body wash at home. I can't imagine working in the heart of Times Square is easy, but all the staff members we interacted with were friendly, attentive, and polite. There was no detail overlooked during our stay. This hotel really is a pearl!

If you're looking for a place to stay in NYC, don't hesitate to book this property. My mom (age 70 and in a mobility wheelchair) and I stayed 4 nights and would do it again. Here are just a few of property features that made The Pearl absolutely worth the stay: Kind and attentive staff, CLEAN and spacious rooms (we had a room w/2 queen beds), included breakfast (NY bagels, very good pastries, fresh fruit and yogurt, hard boiled eggs, coffee/tea/juice), luggage storage (no fee), car service to airport (reasonable price), QUIET rooms, evening happy/social hour with wine (no extra fee), and a great location (very close to restaurants and theaters).
From The Pearl, we were able to easily walk to the subway (<5 min), Times Square (<10 min), Central Park (~10 min), Radio City Hall (<10 min), and more. If you forgot anything, there is a CVS a couple doors down (even at night, this walk felt safe). For restaurants, there was the Carnegie Diner (around the corner), Ellen's Stardust Café (FUN! <5 min walk), Da Marino (practically across the street) and more to choose from, not to mention the Empire Steakhouse (on-site), which we didn't get to this time, but will next time!
I work in the travel/tourism industry and have already recommended The Pearl to my colleagues. I will 100% recommend it to any client wanting to spend time in the Big Apple. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This being my first trip to New York City, I was really concerned about where I was going to stay. I happened upon this hotel and the price and overall location was great. I'm a very firm believer in, "You get what you pay for," so I was going for clean and safe, but not a whole lot more. I'm on my 5th day here, and everyday, I'm more and more impressed. The staff really cares. They've solved multiple little problems for me, especially when I realized I forgot my vaccination card at home, the gentleman at the front desk suggested where to go to get a digital confirmation on my phone. In 5 minutes catastrophe was averted!! The cleaning staff stopped by after I left the do not disturb sign on my room to make sure everything was ok. I've had multiple interactions with the staff daily and they have all been a pleasure. The continental breakfast is very good and high end. This ain't no crappy plastic wrapped danish/instant coffee breakfast. My room is SUPER NICE with everything I need. The bed and pillows are very high quality. The thermostat in the room is flawless. It's been horribly hot and ridiculously humid so yes, I set the room to 65degrees and you could hang meat in here. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the large mirror in the room, so many times I've had to stand on a toilet to check my whole look out. The lobby is so beautiful. And I'm 2 blocks from Times Square. I literally couldn't have found a better hotel. I'll never stay anywhere else when I come to New York city. Period.

The hotel could not be more ideal in terms of access to Times Square, Broadway, Rockefeller Center, Central Park. There are also several subway stations within short walking distance that provide easy access to the entire city. Hotel staff were very helpful, courteous and friendly. They were very good about checking proof of COVID vaccinations prior to entering the breakfast room and staff were always wearing masks. All in all it was wonder experience and we hope to return.

Hotel is lovely, clean, friendly staff, excellent location but breakfast poor- really limited cold buffet on disposable paper plates! Tasteless juice.Lots of coffee shops etc nearby for a substantial breakfast.
I think it was continental- I didn’t have it.
Hi - the breakfast is very minor. Boiled eggs, bagels, fruit, Yogurt & juice. The rooms are a nice size so it depends on how long you're staying.
