If they were honest about the weekend noise issue on then 17th floor I would have given them more stars, as the hotel itself is good. We read the reviews and asked not to be on the 17th. However, because they put someone else in our assigned room, when we checked in we were offered a downgrade (for one night,...

Dear David M, It’s disappointing to hear that you didn’t have a flawless experience. We strive to improve each day so thank you for the candid feedback. I wanted to personally apologize for the many inconveniences you experienced on our 17th floor and the noise disturbances. This is not typical of first impression we strive to provide. We will review...

Kenny was fantastic. He was sweet, accommodating and got us a great ride to LGA. The rooms are nice but you don't get much despite the price. Very small room at $600 per night but with a fantastic view. The rooftop bar was very nice but also small. The food was very good.

I am a hotel snob and have high expectations of the locations in which I stay. On this particular trip to NYC, I opted to try The James SoHo. I have stayed at The James Chicago, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. From the get-go, the staff was so sincere and learned my name immediately. They checked in each...

Dear Matt D, Thanks for such a positive review. Our team is our greatest asset so I’ll be sure to relay your special mention to them. The James’ luxury liberated approach to guest service strives to be genuine and unobtrusive. It’s great you felt welcomed. We hope you return very soon, perhaps in the summer to enjoy the plunge pool!...

This is one of my go to hotels in New York. The location is perfect being at a quieter and more intimate end of Soho, despite being so close to the Holland Tunnel and Canal Street. The overall design of the place is slick but still warm. They have little perks like lobby treats (coffee and biscuits), complimentary car service...

Just left the James Hotel today after a 2 night stay. Its our second time there. Love this spot. So many restaurants and shops to walk to. If your into shopping on Canal Street, its right there. Rooms are small, but plenty big enough with small table and built in setae. Beds are so comfortable. Pillows are incredible. Not a...

I went to New York with my girlfriend over Thanksgiving and was planning to propose on the trip. While I had originally planned to do it outside, the cold weather made this impossible. I contacted the James Hotel as I was scrambling to find other ideas, and the staff there (particularly Keith Zytowski) was extremely accommodating. Just hours before the...

The James Hotel is situated more than perfect in the very heart of NY's vibrant SoHo district. All kinds of shopping options - whether really high-end or rather underground NY style - are right around the corner. Also, an overwhelming range of the best dining possibilities NY has to offer are very nearby or within reasonable reach. Same for the...

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
