Not a fancy hotel but the location is great because it was 2-3 mins walk to the nearest subway station. There are lots of restaurants, cafes and marts nearby. Also near Central Park.
The hotel is quite old and needs refurbishment. The room we got...More
I arrives at the hotel tired and ready for a hot shower. 45 minutes later I was still waiting in reception trying to work out what had happened with my reservation. The hotel Manager (Mr Hernadez) was not only unhelpful, but was also rude. He...More
We decided to take a road trip down to New York city for the Victoria day long weekend. We left Fri afternoon (5pm) and decided to drive until we couldn't anymore. lol. We finally stayed in some dumpy hotel in syracuse. The next day we...More
The location was great, I'll give it that. Right next to the subway, in a safe neighborhood. But the hotel itself was very disappointing. We didn't mind that the room was shabby - after all, it was inexpensive by NYC standards. But we did mind...More

Nestled between Central Park and the Hudson River, the Upper West Side offers iconic architecture and a quiet, residential respite from the buzzing energy of downtown. Along Central Park West are many of the city’s most iconic apartment buildings, as well as the American Museum of Natural History, which has been welcoming visitors to its historic exhibit halls for over 140 years. Culture fans will love Lincoln Center,
home to some of the world’s best opera, dance, film, and theatre performances, all centrally located around a beautiful fountain. Spanning the entire length of the Upper West Side, Riverside Park is ideal for a long, leisurely stroll in a quiet green space.

The hotel is upgrading rooms. Some remain old and others look quite new. The hotel itself is older. I have stayed at this hotel for many years and never saw any mold. I have seen an occasional crack in the wall and some chipped paint, worn carpets and a lack of drawer space, but I wouldn't call the place "dirty."
This area, away from Times Square, has a lot to recommend it. Walk over to Amsterdam Avenue and find a variety of dining options all the way down into the 70s. You can walk across Central Park to the east side, visit the museums and location to the subway is great. The little deli across the street is fine. If you want more, go around the corner on Broadway and check out the Manhattan Diner or walk up to 100th Street to the Metro.
I suggest that you ask for a room in the back of the hotel in the upper floors to avoid street traffic noise.
This hotel offers reasonable prices in the city. It's not a chic hotel, but, let's face it: you will probably only be sleeping here anyway!

Hello. I've stayed here on two separate occasions, mainly because of the location. The first time, I thought the room was terrible, but the second time, when I had one of the renovated rooms, it was better, even acceptable. We didn't get eaten alive by bed bugs either! Wherever you decide to stay, I hope you have a good time.
