A great location, far enough from Broadway and Times Square to be chilled out but close enough to be just a short walk to the main attractions, restaurants and crowds. There is a bar and restaurant associated with the hotel and if you have a room on floors 1 and 2 at the back of the hotel this may be... More

What a wonderful stay we had this winter at FQGA. From our first contact with the hotel via phone to our friendly farewell from the staff upon departure, the service we received can only be described as excellent. Although Tripadvisor may classify it as a hotel, the fine attention to detail and focus on guests' comfort makes FQGA feel more... More

We had a great stay at The French Quarter last summer. We usually stay at B&B’s and boutique hotels when possible, and The French Quarter definitely fits in that category. We were just there to get a few errands knocked out downtown, but if this is your first time to the city (or even if you are a NYC veteran),... More

Originally we had booked somewhere else as I was trying to 'economise' on our trip to NYC, coming at the end of a 3 week vacation... but my other half persuaded me to try this place after we found the reviews here, and we are so glad we did. The real stand out for us were the staff and service:... More

It you plan to go to New York City for the theater and like small hotels, this slightly out-of-the-way spot is perfect. The hotel is a converted brownstone located on 46th St. in the middle of "Restaurant Row." Pros: can walk to all theaters in Broadway area, large rooms, "essence" of a kitchen, excellent linens and décor, nice bathrooms, friendly... More

So, Hi. I am a little lost in terms of what to write. And so - I am hoping that the person who wrote this review won't mind that they put into words what I would write... So? I've quoted most of it... "The position of the French Quarters was great, in Restaurant Row, Theatre District, just off Hell's Kitchen.... More

The position of the French Quarters was great, in Restaurant Row, Theatre District, just off Hell's Kitchen. A five minute walk to Times Square and easy walking to the two Theatres we attended. Even walked to Central Park. It was our first visit to the US and we'd researched carefully, not really liking huge hotels. FQ suited us perfectly, small,... More

Manager was possibly one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. Kicked out before even unpacking for being under 21, a rule which was never posted online. You would think there would be better service from a place where you pay a grand a night for a suite, and then travel hours just to be kicked out.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
