We have now stayed at the Smyth several times, and decided to write this review after our most recent visit a couple of weeks ago. The rooms are spacious with attractive updated furnishings. Bathrooms are also large with wonderful walk-in showers. The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Tribeca, just a short walk to the Freedom Tower, the...

Excellent bellman service. I love how attentive the young men are and their willingness to assist with anything. They are all handsome and extremely polite. My room was not as nice as other stays but still sufficient. My view was of a brick wall. I love the gym and the convenience to my office at World Trade Center.

A downtown boutique hotel in a superb location to my business meetings and to transport with an air of understated quality and chic! The lounge is a great place to sit and relax, to work and enjoy the world go by. The bar drinks are many and varied, the food quality excellent. Staff are attentive and courteous. I stay here...

Centrally located in Tribeca, service intensive, very well appointed, highly conscientious staff. Very quiet. Will stay there whenever we go. The restaurant is great, especially for brunch. Subway around the corner. Lots of restaurants in the neighborhood.

No one to greet car as we pulled up. No indication of valet service. Parked ourselves and then hauled our luggage across snow piles on street. No one to open door when we arrived at hotel...trying to get inside laden with luggage, coats, etc. Room is small but attractively done. Frosted glass walls used for bathroom allows the room not...

I spent my NY visit in this lovely, modern hotel. The accommodations were simple and elegant and the bed was extraordinarily comfortable. Wonderfully appointed bathroom and shower. The Smyth offered an authentic and personal experience from the moment I checked in to the moment I left.

My favorite hotel in the city! Convenient location, fantastic neighborhood. Comfortable and very clean rooms that are stylish, not to mention quiet for a city hotel. The staff is friendly with zero downtown attitude. Accommodate requests and make check in a breeze. The lounge is like being in the coolest living room. You feel very VIP here. The restaurant is...

I live in Hoboken, so we never have a need to stay overnight in NYC, but I wanted to treat my mother for her 60th birthday with a night stay in NYC. The hotel accommodations exceeded both of our expectations and I consider myself picky. The area is great for getting around via subway or taxi and plenty of restaurants...

We just spent a weekend here, and our stay was quite enjoyable. Our second time here. Our room was large for a NY hotel. It's an easy walk to the best shopping and restaurants. Very close to subway. Our room was quiet and very comfortable. Service was excellent.

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
