I booked a room at Chelsea Pines Inn based on other reviews and indeed the place is very good and not expensive by New York standards. The breakfast is good (significantly better than the continental breakfast I get at California hotels at same price point). The personnel is friendly and helpful and the whole place has a cozy/friendly vibe. The...

So yes, the place has changed ownership, and a few things have changed. But has it turned into a mediocre or bad place? No! Some things have changed, such as a bit less choice at breakfast, and I missed a few of the old staff. Yet...I will continue to stay here. Why? Chelsea Pines Inn has kept its character, and...

I stayed at the Chelsea Pines Inn for 4 nights in December. I was excited to finally score a reservation after all of the glowing reviews I'd read on Tripadvisor. Location: The location is awesome. So close to Meatpacking restaurants, Chelsea shops, food, galleries, the High Line, subways. Super convenient if this is where you want to hang out. Inn:...

We (my 20 YO daughter and I) were welcomed by Shawn who is a true professional. A quick intro and we were shown to our cosy room. The welcome card and choccy's were a nice touch, we immediately knew we had made the right decision to stay at Chelsea Pines. Chelsea itself has a lot to offer but our proximity...

I stayed two nights with my daughter in the Rock Hudson room on the 5th floor. Shawn greeted us in the evening and it was like going to a friends apartment. He could not have been nicer. He carried our bags up to the 5th floor and would not let me tip him. The next night he asked my daughter...

Ok so new York is a very expensive place. But this place really helped with the budget. And don't think you are compromising on quality for the lower price, because you are not. The rooms are very individual, and it was fun to go check out each other guest bedrooms. The staff also really made our stay. They go out...

I really liked the place. The unique decor made me feel like I was not in a standard hotel. The bed was super comfy and the size of the room was surprisingly large compared to other lower cost places I've stayed in New York. I didn't feel trapped in a small box. They had really good coffee (I did not...

There are 3 in our party who have spent a long weekend in NYC every year for over twenty years. This was our first stay at Chelsea Pines Inn. The location is great. The staff was friendly. They offer, in writing, to arrange airport transportation. We took advantage of the offer and were assured twice that arrangements had been made....

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
