There is so many good things I could say about this hostel. But I will keep it short and simple. 1. The kitchens (there are 2 large ones) are functional and fully equipped. 2. There is tons of communal areas spread throughout the hostel and boasts an extensive outdoor area, with paved and grassed areas. There are also communal balconies...

I'm not one to give hostels bad ratings as you usually get what you pay for. However, this hostel is dangerous. When I stayed here I was lucky enough to be evacuated after the fire alarm went off at 3am. Whilst it was a false alarm it really did alert me to just how unsafe the hostel is to stay...

I stayed here for three nights with my 10th grade school group and my daughter who was accompanying me. First the pros: The location is great, a block from line 1 on the subway (direct to Times Square and Penn Station). The breakfasts at the café were good and inexpensive and the salads looked fresh and delicious (but we didn't...

Its a big place in a decent location. Proximity to subway stop makes it easy to get around. So don't worry about location. But the size of the place means a lot of school groups. I understand the area is needed to cater for big groups but it mean solo travellers or small groups struggled to use facilities or to...

It was my first time staying in a hostel, on my own, everyone was a bit worried for me at home but now I can’t think why. The hostel was clean and tidy, lovely big kitchen, eating area and laundry room. There was activity’s such as pool table, theatre room and trips throughout the day.. ohh and of course the...

When I arrived there was a long queue to check in and the staff were slow, but this was the only issue I experienced. And at least the staff were friendly. The bed in the 12-bed dorm I stayed in was comfy, and the room was quiet with little traffic noise outside. Location of the hostel is fantastic - only...

This is a massive hostel, I think it has over 600 beds, and the building is a great character buildings with a gothic style of construction. Location is decent - to the northwestern side of Central Park, about a 10-15 minute sub ride into Manhattan, it makes for a good base of operations. However, the neighbourhood is a bit on...

The hostel is conveniently located one block away from a subway station and near to Central Park, yes, but it is also a long long way from Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, the MoMA and other attractions. The shared rooms are crowded, I stayed in a room with other 11 people and some of them were messy, to say...

Having never been to a hostel before, I was utterly surprised at this place. I thought it was AMAZING. It felt more like a huge community centre and felt like a home from home. Here's a list of the good points: -cafe food was amazing and good value -staff went above and beyond to help and are so friendly (big...

I like this place. I've been to New York three times with three different people and we've done well here. it's a hostel and a bit on the expensive side as far as hostels go (with prices for their private rooms, you could find a hotel deal) but still a cheap sleep for a city you won't do much lingering...
