I went to NY for my birthday by myself from LA && did a little research the day before my flight to find a place to stay. I wanted a good location + decent pricing + decent/great reviews & came across Zip112 after reading some scary reviews/info. on other hostels. I loved the location of Zip112 (close to the L... More

I stayed here on my first night of my RTW trip - the owner, Young, was helpful & friendly and was able to give me a bit of information on Brooklyn and New York City when I arrived. The rooms and bathrooms were nice & clean, the only downside was the noisy air con unit that kept me up at... More

My friend and I just stayed in this hostel for 3 nights and were very impressed with it. Location: In terms of location it is excellent, it is about 5 minutes from the Bedford Avenue Subway stop which takes about ten minutes to get into central Manhattan on the L line. (I would recommend buying an unlimited subway card as... More

Quite a ZEN find in an extremely cool nabe... Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It's a 2-story loft! Breakfast included, three bedrooms [two with 2 bunkbeds for 4 people] and 2 full bathrooms [one on each floor]. The main floor has a full kitchen for clientele to use--beautiful... and it opens up to a full roof-deck overlooking Manhattan. Totally perfect for having your... More

I had previously given ZIP112 a glowing review and while the points about location and appropriateness for single female travellers still hold, I felt like I should give a more up-to-date review. Stayed in ZIP112 again in late September 2011 and to be honest, was disappointed at how the building had become untidy. The place was covered in dust, it... More

First hostel experience where an unbroken nights sleep is the norm. Williamsburg is a happening 'hood' without the chains. 10 minutes on L subway to union square. Stunning views of Manhattan from roof terrace.

After a rather terrible experience in Albany I arrived in Manhattan rather stressed and looking to just enjoy the rest of my time in NY. From the moment I got to Zip112 I felt a lot better. The place was easy to find just a short walk from the nearest subway. The area itself is really trendy and young with... More

I stayed here for two nights. It's perfectly located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, a short walk from the subway and the East River Ferry which goes to Manhattan and Dumbo in Brooklyn. There are also cute markets near. The room was really nice and the whole place was very clean! It felt very homely and the host was friendly and helpful.

“You do need to climb up at lot of stairs to get to the hostel so if this does not appeal to you then look elsewhere. Also, this is mostly a female hostel (beds for 8 females) and there is only one bedroom with two beds for males. The blue bedroom is slightly larger than the pink bedroom.”
