Our stay at the Inn on 23rd was an thoroughly delightful experience. From our late night arrival with careful instructions left by hotel manager Thomas, to being greeted by Dorothy the resident cat, to sleeping off our jet lag in the wonderfully comfortable king-size bed in our charming and immaculate room - we loved every moment of our nearly two-week...

We loved staying in this small inn in the heart of the Chelsea area. It was conveniently located to all the sights, with subway stops just a block away. Our room was light and airy because of a huge skylight, and it was decorated with style and charm. Probably the best part of the hotel is the lovely library, where...

For my recent trip to NYC, I stayed in Room 53 for two weeks from May 16-30. The Inn on 23rd has an excellent location and great staff. I definitely echo the positive comments already posted. The Inn has firmly placed itself on my list of places to stay in NYC. The Guilty Goose was a frequent haunt of mine....

We spent one night here because it is two buildings away from where we used to live. We were delighted by the place itself and the level of service from friendly and knowledgeable Thomas at the front desk. We didn't try the restaurant downstairs on this trip, but we will on our next stay. This location is within easy walking...

My family and I had the great pleasure of staying at this B&B May 18-21. This B&B is an oasis in NYC. We were greeted warmly by Thomas, and shown our very clean and spacious room. Breakfast in the library was wonderful: good food, great view and VERY good coffee. It was nice to rest in the library after a...

This really has everything you'd want in an urban B & B. I had the "Canopy room" named after the large and comfy canopy bed; even though it faced 23rd st., noise was not a problem--thick windows I guess, and the hum of the (easily adjusted) AC, Spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated with a mixture of antiques and nice reproductions, wi-fi...

My wife and two kids stayed at The Inn this past weekend. Because of the good reviews we decided to initiate contact via e-mail. The quick response from Thomas was a sign of their dedicated service. A room for 4? Done. A change of plans after we had already booked? Done. The location is excellent for both walking and accessing...

A very good mixture of family style B&B and comfortable hotel. Arriving in the middle of the night we were welcomed in a very friendly way by Miss Dorothy (the Inn cat) on night duty. We felt at home from the very beginning and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All rooms are different and have there own character....

Had to make a late booking for a hotel in NY so mny of the budget hotels were full, but luckily there was room in the Inn! I am quite fussy about where I sleep. I don't mind the size of the room but it must be clean, have it's own bathroom, be quiet, have free wi-fi and in a...

We wanted to stay in Chelsea to check out the High Line Park and celebrate our 12th anniversary. We couldn't be happier with The Inn on 23rd. It is well located and the amenities were perfect. Our room, The Maritime Room, was the one we had originally requested. Even though they can't guarantee which room you'll get, the staff was...

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.

“Don't book a room at this hotel.”
  • Broken furniture (or maybe dumpster dive
  • We're not FANS of dust build-up (enjoy the snow machine)
  • Welcome to your suite (don't bother covering this one up with the faux sheep skin)
  • SHOKINGLY horrendous (Don't like the clanking radiator? But still want heat?)
  • Just gross (carpet everywhere looked like this)
  • Torn blankets (or, another dumpster dive score?)
  • Carpeted lights? Carpeted with dust, that is.
  • Thought we would be looking at a painting, not a carving
