To say that the appartment was amazing and that Matt and Kevin were polite, obliging yet respectful of our privacy is probably an understatement. The appartment was very clean, nicely decorated - with a seperate dining area to the kitchen. The subway is less than 5 minutes walk away and we managed to sample Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Italian cuisine...

We have recently returned from a week in NY and I must say love the city, love the shopping and loved The Greenwich Village Habitue!! The apartment was clean, cosy and situated in such a fabulous area. Matt & Kevin were fautless hosts. They were so friendly yet not at all in your face. Totally on the pulse with inormation...

Just got back from NYC and really enjoyed our stay at the Greenwich Village Habitue. We were there for five days and it was great to have an apartment instead of a regular hotel room. We were able to stock the fridge with a few munchies & have a little more room to spread out. It's on a quiet street...

We stayed at the Habitue for five days last November and had a wonderful time. Matt was a great host and made us feel at home without being intrusive. As others have described, it really was like having our own little apartment in a cozy old neighborhood. The antiques were beautiful and tasteful, and every night when we came in...

We have just returned from a fantastic week in New York, staying in Apt 5 in the GVH. This is definitely the answer for travellers who want to get a real feel for NYC life, away from the skyrise hotels. Matt and Kevin were very helpful with all that we asked of them, and at the same time respected our...

Conveniently hidden in the middle of Greenwich Village, on the edge of the Meat Packing district you will find this gem. A house converted into large self contained mini-apartments, with all home comforts supplied. Tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. The landlords of the b&b welcomed us like long-lost family members and made sure we had everything we might need.

We had a very comfortable stay at A Greenwich Village Habitue. The entire experience was positive: booking the reservation, checking in, the location, the accommodations, all of it. Matthew and Kevin are very nice and helpful. I loved reading the information in the top drawer of the bureau--you could say "top drawer" is an apt metaphor for our stay. Hope...

I just attempted to make a reservation at this place. I wrote to them months ago to book for July and was told to wait until February. I wrote again in February and was told to call between 10am and noon. I called between 10am and noon. I was told the dates we wanted were open and patiently waited and...

Had the most fantastic stay at the Greenwich Village Habitue - the website pictures shows exactly what these apartments are like. Felt like a Village residents during our week stay here in November - perfect place to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary!! The location is brill, great for walking around or jumping on the nearby subway. Matt & Kevin...

We spent 2 memorable weeks in a cosy, well appointed apartment in Greenwich Village with Matthew & Kevin as our hosts. Matt & Kev were charming, helpful and non-intrusive but always made themselves available if advice, information or help was required. By the end of our 2 weeks stay we really felt like we were part of the neighbourhood and...

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
