I booked via Hotwire and was quite concerned after reading all the negative feedback on Tripadvisor. Sadly, I found out a lot of it is correct. The good: The service. The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. It was freezing in our room, but we immediately got offered a space heater and some extra blankets. We changed rooms as the...

My partner and I stayed here at the end of April, it's a budget hotel for a good price for NYC, we stayed 6 nights for around $850. This was our first stop after a long haul flight from Australia, we found it difficult without an elevator on the first day but after some help from the staff we were...

I travel a lot but do not often take the time to write a review, or for that matter read others before I book the room. In this case the rooms are exactly what was described by Giraaroundarol which I should have read first before booking. The hotel is beat up and having to carry bags up and down four...

My wife and I have been staying in NYC a half dozen times a year for the last few years. We have visited several budget hotels and enjoyed all of them for different reasons. We like the East Village and we like the Upper West Side. Problem is, once the weather gets nicer, many hotels only accept multiple night bookings,...

This hotel is about 100 years' old and it shows! We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who assisted us by carrying our luggage up the four flights of narrow stairs as there are no lifts. Our room was very dark and poorly lit. On our first night we encountered an extremely soft mattress which sagged in the middle,...

We stayed in this hotel during the Holidays end 2011. The staff is very friendly but the rooms are a little worn out and the beds are really small. We did not sleep well. The hotel is not expensive so it is probably good value for the money you pay. When we came we did not like the room which...

I wasn't going to write a review so didn't take many photos but now I feel obliged to warn any potential guests. We stayed at the hotel last week & now deeply regret not choosing a different one closer to the centre. However there is a subway outside Marrakech with line 1, 2 & 3 taking you to the centre...

The Marrakech is on Broadway and 103st. It is a small, clean hotel with a friendly staff. Don't expect frills like a room thermostat, reliable hot water or an elevator. If you can live with those conditions and IF the price is right, try it. The #1 subway stops right outside the hotel, so the fact that you are quite...

We stayed here 6 nights and the service we received was very professional and very friendly at the same time not very big rooms but you don't spend long in your room when in the vibrant city of New York! Ideal location to the subway just minutes away from times square from where everything is happening! Free wifi here but...

the rooms are small but clean the hallways are dark the hotel is mostly filled with students who are obviously looking for a cheap place to stay. I would recommend paying the few extra dollars and getting a nicer hotel however I can't say we were disappointed by this hotel. We got what we paid for. Also across the street...
