A very inexpensive place to stay overnight in the Grand Central neighborhood. Very convenient to move around on foot to MOMA, Broadway theaters, UN, shopping areas and on. If you mainly look for a decent place to sleep, you may want to consider it. However, be aware that it can be noisy outside the room.

If you're looking for a hostel in a central location in NYC this appears to be great, there's no denying the location is awesome. However, there are a number of factors that let the hostel down. We were part of a large group visiting from the UK and shared rooms in pairs. The rooms were either very cold or boiling...

We took bunk bed room for 2 people. It was cramped, unlike a lot of other hostels I have been to. Its pretty old. Had just one charging point. The location is really good though. The bathrooms and rest of the property is good.

We stayed there for a week. It's a good place to stay if you don't want to spend so much money. the location is great. We stayed in the 7th floor, the lady that was cleaning wasn't really kind, but those that worked in the front desk were really nice. I'd absolutely stay there again.

This is definitely a hostel. Single rooms are very small and not very soundproof. Bed is fine though and effort has gone into making it homey. There were individual bathrooms which were good. The only problem is that the doors did not close quietly. Location is very good and the people were very friendly. Extra services like luggage storage were...

The rooms in the hostel are all very basic but clean. You get what you pay for and in this case it is a cheap room in an unbeatable location! My room was clean and if had to say something negative is that it would be that the AC unit could have done with some maintenance but it worked and...

The room was tiny with bunk beds so I had to sleep separeted from my husband but we didn't mind for 2 nights because the location compensated this problem. We didn't need to use the subway because many things were just around within a few minutes walking (Chrysler building, Grand Central Station, Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building, Times Square, Central...

Never stayed in a hostel before - this was probably a good introduction! Good location considering the price was significantly cheaper than other hotels in the area. Bathrooms were kept clean, there was a communal kitchen / lounge area on each floor (which we didn't make use of as we were too busy sightseeing!) and lots of leisure facilities downstairs....

The location is good. The rooms and the washrooms were clean..but the customer service is awful! I had a really bad experience with one of the ladies at the front desk. I asked for her full name, and one of co-workers replied: "I don't know her name" ...very unprofessional! In any case, she identified herself as Katya Colas (I don't...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
