The Chelsea Savoy was an excellent choice for me and the small group of my students attending an academic conference in NYC. It had entirely adequate accommodations, a perfect location, and a moderate price. Alas, my room on the 3rd floor faced 7th Avenue, which meant traffic noise. I could even hear the 7th Ave. subway directly below. So, until...

New York is a big city and hotels will be more expensive. We believe we found a good balance between cost and quality with the location being the overall convincing factor. We would stay here again but you need to place everything into perspective. This is not 5 star accommodation. That said it offers rooms that are spacious by big...

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in Sept. and were pleasantly surprised...wonderng what such a reasonable rate would offer. We were able to store our luggage when we arrived before the room was ready; and when we did get to our room, it was small but clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was professional, the housekeeping...

We stayed two nights and had a very pleasant stay. We traveled with friends and they had an identical room. The rooms were small but were clean and comfortable. We were on the fourth floor and could open our window. We loved the sounds of the city! The price was great and included a continental breakfast with coffee, bagels, and...

This hotel was a great value. I stayed Sept 11- 15, 2010 with friends. We had 2 rooms, one with one double bed, and the other room with two double beds. The room with the 2 beds was considerably larger (understandably) but both were good. The rooms were somewhat noisy from being very close to the street but that's to...

We had a great 6 day break based in Chelsea. The Malibu Diner is a must (across the road from the Chelsea Savoy). The whole area is lively and full of great bars and restaurants. NY City is within easy reach from this base and I would highly recommend this hotel. Although noisy on our first night, we became very...

the unprofessional and very uncourteous way we were treated by the staff of the Chelsea Savoy hotel in Manhattan. Our arrival went as follows: -We got to the hotel at noon and at first were informed –in poor and ill-mannered English- that we had NO reservations. After I showed them a print out, they changed their minds and rudely told us...

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights 5 days. The last time I came to NYC (2008) I stayed at the Pan American in Queens and absolutely hated it. So this time i was adamant to stay in the city on some kind of budget- at least. After a month of researching hotels in Manhattan, including reading various reviews on...

I have stayed here 3 times and have no complaints. The room and bathroom are fairly big for NYC standard and are quite clean, no bed bugs! Breakfast each morning is decent with fresh coffee, tea and pastry. Location is great, close to the subway and Penn Station, and just south of Times Square. I like staying in Chelsea better...

This hotel was great -we stayed from the 17th until the 21st of August. The rooms are a good size, the bathroom is spacious (especially by NYC standards) and the beds are comfy. The breakfast was alright and the maids were really good, especially Lena (sp?). The desk staff were not unfriendly but were busy with all the things to...
