This hotel, like the others in the Firmdale chain, is charmingly decorated, extraordinarily fresh and clean and a delight to stay in. The room itself was quite comfortable with a very large bathroom; It had a wall of windows, so it was full of light and generally very thoughtfully designed. The public spaces, the bar/restaurant and the library are just as pleasant to be in. The staff is first-rate and the quality of our stay exceeded that of just about any hotel experience we've ever had. The art collection is whimsical and uplifting. Just a lovely place to be.

I've been traveling to New York for business and pleasure for over four decades and have stayed at the city's top hotels. The Whitby hit my radar when I was in New York recently to host a screening and my usual venue wasn't available. Everything about the experience was stellar. In particular, Ethel Nomm in reservations, along with the hotel's top notch concierge team, made my extended stay comfortable and memorable. I enjoyed a spectacular suite with a private terrace. Not to mention excellent room service. The rooms are stunningly beautiful, the bathroom well-appointed and everything about the Whitby is sumptuous yet personalized. Tali Ben Lev, the hotel's events manager, handled our screening event brilliantly. (The state-of-the art screening room was cushy and elegant.) The location can't be beat and I look forward to returning often.

The hotel is beautiful, everything about the hotel is beautiful. My phone calls arranging the rooms were so easy, the reservationists go above and beyond to help. We arrived a hour before check in and they welcomed us and took our bags and showed us to the restaurant until our room was ready which was only a short time after we arrived. The turn down service each night was so nice with the waters and pillow spray bottles. Hand written notes were left in our room to welcome each of us. It’s a wonderful location, the beds are heavenly and the rooms are quiet. We look forward to returning when we’re in the city.

Stayed at The Pierre last weekend and this weekend at The Whitby Hotel. Coming back to The Whitby for two more weekends in July. My deluxe, luxury room was beautifully designed, large, comfortable and very clean!! I can’t say enough about the fantastic staff from Kathrin, the manager, to the front desk (Ryan and Evan), housekeeping and bellman, all was perfect! A huge shoutout to Ryan for helping my son and his friends in the wee hours of the morning. I can’t wait until my next visit.

When you step into the Whitby, you are immediately met with happy faces and you feel at home! The staff is perfection along with the rooms! Very unique in decor! I have never been to a hotel where the housekeeping is so good! The room was impeccably clean! My stay at the Whitby will not be my last! Best location for shopping and great restaurants within walking distance! The Whitby in my opinion is a great option to feel special and welcomed!

The Whitby Hotel, Manhattan, is more than a hotel. It's an experience. The hotel is beautiful and reflects the work of the owner/interior designer. There seemed to be no end to the interesting art, china, tapestries, wall coverings, furniture and collections of books. The rooms are impeccably clean and include twice daily housekeeping visits. The bathrooms are bright with lights and the beds include Frette linens. What really sets this hotel apart is the friendly and attentive staff. After checking in we received welcome notes from the head housekeeper, head concierge and the general manager along with a box of delicious chocolates. The front desk and concierge staff that included Frederick, Victor, Manny, Tony and Jerry were professional, friendly and helpful. They assisted us with tickets, maps, subway travel, taxis, restaurants and recommendations for sites we might enjoy. Victor even remembered our names. After 6 days, it was difficult to leave The Whitby Hotel.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Private. Intimate. Quite pricey for my junior suite but it was worth it. Bathroom is lovely. Maid service twice daily and everything was immaculate. Very secure. Walking distance to almost all I wanted to do. 24 hour full room service which was wonderful. Victor was always helpful and personable. Bar and restaurant were very nice. Highly recommend.

We just spent a few days at the Whitby and I think we have our new favorite NYC hotel. The room (one of their smaller rooms) was clean, modern, and well sized. Soft sheets. The bathroom was terrific -- great shower layout, strong water pressure, US style towel heater, etc. Great closet space with fun but useful lighting. The downstairs jazz bar/restaurant was a delight. The after hours room behind reception (with an honor bar) was a terrific addition.

We have stayed a hotels all over Mid Town NYC and this is by far the best experience we have had. The location is great and the hotel facilities are over the top! We loved all of the artwork and subtle decorative touches in the rooms and public areas. The staff were very helpful and friendly. A special shout out to Concierge Tony! He made our stay extra special! We had several meals at the hotel and all was great! Especially the Breakfast! We will definitely return. Good bye Pierre and Palace! This is our new NYC hotel!

The Whitby never disappoints. Beautiful ambiance, great food and service. It has been always my favorite whether is for breakfast, dinner or afternoon tea. Simply the best! I give special support knowing that this hotel has been open during covid pandemic and without lowering its quality. Two thumbs up!❤️
