We recently spent 6 nights at the Bowery Hanbee and could not be more delighted with our choice. - Location - super area full of great restaurants, interesting sights and within very easy access to all areas via the subway. It is on a very noisy junction but you do get used to the traffic. Ideal for first time tourists...

I am a native New Yorker who has only recently started re-visiting the city after having lived elsewhere for more than 35 years. I've stayed at the Hanbee several times over the last year or so, as well as at least one other hotel in Manhattan. I've got only good things to say about this hotel. It's in an excellent...

Second time staying at the BWBH and I love the neighborhood more than last time. Great bars, restaurants, and shops in the surrounding blocks and actually not a far walk from the Village. The rooms are small but very pleasant and the bathrooms are quite large and well lit. The down side on this trip was the noise factor. Our...

Update of a previous review: In an earlier review of this hotel I mentioned that the hotel was in a good location, was clean and is usually a reasonably good value for money ( depending on when you book it for). These are all still true. I also mentioned it was quiet. That is the part I wish to amend....

This hotel was really positive suprise to me. Rooms were really big (usually in Nyc the rooms are really small). Bed was soft and nice. Good location - walking distance to Shopping streets in Soho, little italy and of course China town. Good breakfast and nice service in front desk. Nothing bad to say about this hotel. Price and quality...

Like other reviews say, this place is located smack bang in Chinatown and Little Italy! It's also a stones throw from soho shopping with 2 subway stations very close by! We originally caught the bus and subway from the airport, but as we had so much luggage and no escalators/elevators at the station, I will definitely recommend catching a taxi...

I stayed here with a University school trip a few years ago. The accommodations were good, the rooms were clean, but the hotel was a little closer to Chinatown then we would have liked. I have to add that the service was courteous and professional, and at no point in time were there any hardships experienced by any of the...

Well, what can I say, what a fantastic, brilliant little hotel, excellent value for money, me and the wife stayed here for a week in Jan 2012 and had a excellent stay, couldn't ask for anything more, great location not far from the underground, just a 2min walk, friendly staff, clean room, what more can I say.... the only problem...

We had the most wonderful time in Bowery Hanbee, where we stayed for a week last June. Lovely hosts, spatious rooms, clean and tidy furnishing, great beds, good air conditioning. The hotel is perfectly located for easy access to Soho, East Village, Little Italy and, of course, Chinatown. Great value for money. We will be back!

I had visited NYC with my family and stayed very close to Times Square. This trip (3 girls in mid-20's) was a different experience, and the hotel we chose definitely assisted with it. The Best Western is in the heart of Chinatown, and offers a unique experience from the typical "tourist" stay. Reminder, you are in the middle of traditional...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
