This small hotel charges you a resort fee. This place is the furthest thing from a resort. They also hold $75 a night fee for incidentals. Sure, but there's no place to spend money this property unless you're using the room phone to call overseas. I probably wouldn't have written a review if they hadn't pushed the extra resort fee on us. We booked online through a travel agency that's owned by Booking.com. All the resort extras like wifi were sold at a flat rate when we booked the room. We showed the hotel and called the booking agency to complain. Carnegie Hotel still didn't care and blamed it on the booking agency. They also told us this has happened before. If that's correct, why don't they remove themselves from the agency website? Felt like we were getting hustled which is never fun while on vacation.…
This relatively new hotel is modern, efficient and ready to provide you with a functional space. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very well designed, but the square footage is undeniably what it is. A queen sized bed fills the space. It works, but it is not "spacious." That is the way rooms have become in some hotels. We liked a lot about this accommodation. It is very clean and convenient to many places. We will return and would recommend it. A fair value
I stayed there for 2 weeks. The room was very confortable, modern, clean. The people who works in the hotel are very nice and professional. The location was perfect. When I will come back to NYC for sure I will stay again here.
The noise always beats you in New York -- no matter how hard one tries, the 4am taxis and inopportune horn-honking will never leave your ear. If you're in New York for...well...New York, the noise adds to the experience. But for business and regular travellers doing their motions in the Big Apple, the Carnegie Hotel's relatively new build goes a great way to retreat from the city. While I'd highly recommend having coffee and breakfast in nearby cafes and restaurants, the burger place hidden in a competing hotel down the street and the Greek restaurant next door, this new, well-located hotel is hard to beat in this part of the city.
Professional staff and clean rooms. While the rooms are small they had everything we needed and were fresh, clean and very comfortable. Can't beat the short walk to Carnegie Hall and great restaurants. The evening happy hour and breakfast were well stocked and had pleasant, efficient staff. We would choose this hotel again for any stay in this part of NY.
