The Greewich is a toney boutique hotel in downtown Manhattan. Co-owner Robert De Niro went for a "sophisticated European country house look." Lots of old looking furniture and creaky, hardwood floors. If they were trying make this hotel seem like it's been around since before American Express, they certainly succeeded (I heard it's only 8 years old). My room was... More

Have been staying at this hotel for a few years now, still as good as it was the first time.Staff are about as good as it gets at a hotel. If you had to criticize anything probably would be the restaurant set up for breakfast ,ok in the summer as you can sit outside in the courtyard,I personally don,t like the adjacent... Thank you so much for your review and your kind words are certainly appreciated. The Courtyard is certainly a great place to take breakfast and we do miss it in the winter. Locanda Verde is a very popular restaurant and certainly buzzy and very busy but completely understand that peace and quiet is to be treasured. During the winter it... More

This charming hotel in lower Manhattan ticks all the boxes. An oasis from the traffic outside, it feels more like an upmarket British country manor than a New York City hotel. The extra touches really make the Greenwhich, from the crackling fireplace in the guest lounge, the used books stacked on the shelves, the free mini-bar (excluding alcohol), a candy... More

There's an effortless style to this hotel that is truly rare, comforting, and I'm sure actually requires a lot of attention to detail from the staff. The service is as warm as it is impeccable. The location is a delight of course but better for a downtown-centric stay. Simply said, it's the kind of place you choose if you want... More

Thank you so much for your kind words - delighted that you enjoyed your visit and appreciated the hotel so much. Tribeca really is a great part of Manhattan - it is easy to take a cab to mid town and the subways serve this area very well. Very kind regards Philip Truelove GENERAL MANAGER More

We stayed at the Greenwich Hotel for four nights before moving to another property on the Upper East Side, since It has been close to 20 years from when we were last in New York City and we wanted to experience the Tribeca area. The area, itself, is a lovely collection of small restaurants and eateries; the Wolfgang Steakhouse is... More

We truly appreciate your kind response and are delighted that you enjoyed The hotel and Tribeca, the area that hotel is located in. We love this area as it is so peaceful, steps away from the river and all that the river park has to offer and yet so easy to reach the more traditional areas of Manhattan. We hope... More

My husband and I stayed at the Greenwich for two nights following the NY marathon. We moved downtown from a larger and quite impersonal hotel and the Greenwich was an absolute joy. We only wished we could have stayed longer. It is a place which obviously prides itself on being personal - it is like a lovely extension of home.... More

My sister and I recently stayed here with our mother to celebrate a big birthday with a getaway weekend in NYC. My mom doesn't typically stay at 5 star hotels so I was a little worried that the staff would be snooty and condescending but they weren't - they were lovely - and she had a wonderful time. The location... More

Thank you so much for your very kind review - we are delighted that you all enjoyed your stay and so happy that you chose The Greenwich to celebrate the 'big birthday'. We stayed here over quick 3 days NYC trip in early October, leaving the kids with grandparents. Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
