This was a first visit to the area and I wanted something near water and charming. This place is great if you want to relax and see the city, but not feel like you are in the city. Our patio looked over the marina. We just soaked up the view watch boats come and good. The birds were chirping. Just...

I stayed here for my first visit to San Diego to attend a family wedding. The pricing was very reasonable and the view was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful when I was looking for recommendations for things to do while in town. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel has been refreshed, but still needs a lot of work. There were not even grab rails in the shower and that has been a legal requirement under ADA since the first President Bush. The night before our reservation the hotel called me and asked if we could be upgraded from a suite to a one-bedroom suite. I asked...

Chose this location for its proximity to a conference I was attending. The property is dated (70's?) but don't let the exterior scare you off, it's been completely updated on the inside. One of the advantages to these older properties is that room sizes tend to be large. This was the case for my ground floor room, #147. I was...

On our way home from 6 weeks in Palm Springs, we decided to spend two days in San Diego. Since it was Easter weekend, prices were high at most of the downtown hotels. We read about Bay Club Hotel & Marina on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try and were extremely pleased with our choice. The rooms...

We drove to San Diego for my 30th birthday trip from Arizona. It was a bit spontaneous so I started searching for hotels on the drive. I was shocked at how many San Diego hotels charge resort fees + parking so I researched about half the drive! When I finally came upon the Bay Club, it looked like a perfect...

Although we did not stay overnight at the Bay Club, we met our sisters there for dinner and a Missy Anderson concert next door at Humprey's Back Stage. Having been to the Bay Club several years ago I was impressed with their remodel and modernization which I believe took place about 2 years ago. Our waitress at the Quarterdeck was...

We called in early evening without a reservation and managed to get a table. The view from the Quarterdeck Restaurant over the marina is a very pleasant way to watch the sunset. Our waitress Marissa was very helpful even though they were very busy. My husband had the fillet steak and I had a macaroni cheese with shrimp and bacon...

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. I stayed there for 3 nights and then went to another town and came back for 1 more night. I had a beautiful view over looking the marina from my room on both occasions. The room was simply decorated which made it look elegant. A balcony to sit on and enjoy the peacefulness....

Dear Sue, Thank you for staying with us and posting such an eloquent review. You summed it up perfectly in that Shelter Island is tucked away in San Diego bay with views of the bay on one side and boat filled marina on the other. I'm glad you enjoyed our casual, nautical themed hotel. I will be happy to share...
