As soon as I heard my meetings were going to be in San Diego, I made sure I could stay at the Sofia. Some recent Trip Advisor reviews had me concerned that perhaps the service here had slipped, but everything was top-notch for my stay. When I checked in, the desk clerk moved my room without my asking because he...

The Sofia Hotel is a fabulous place to stay in San Diego. Very central to the Gaslamp District and everything in the centre is in walking distance. The rooms are of a high standard but as the 4th hotel I stayed in during my California trip I did find the room quite small. However maybe they do get the award...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay at The Sofia Hotel San Diego and for pointing out what you enjoyed about your recent stay with us. I agree that the Valet Parking cost is high and does vary from hotel to hotel in downtown San Diego. However, the average nightly Valet Parking rates...

Stayed at the Sofia for 3 nights, the location for the hotel is excellent as it is closely located to the Gaslamp Quarter, USS Midway museum and there are good transport connections to places like Seaworld. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful (which is good if your a tourist). There is however one snag ..... The rooms....

For a weekend in March, I stayed at the Sofia for the second time. I had a great experience. The location, facilities, and special touch that comes with a boutique hotel were all noteworthy parts of my stay. Most of all, I received excellent customer service from Brian and Chloe who worked at the front desk. They were professional and...

We were in a bind and needed a hotel nearby in a hurry, unfortunately we were near all the incredibly high-priced ones and thought we'd have to spend a ton for a decent room. A quick search found the Sofia with reasonably prices. We called to see if we could do an early check in (it was about 10am) and...

Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Used the gym which had all the necessary equipment for a good workout. You can not get a better downtown location than this. Within walking distance to all the best restaurants and bars. Staff very professional and go above and beyond. I left my passport at the hotel and only realised when...

Stayed here for one night while staying in Los Angeles. Got a good late deal. Very small room which was fine for one night but wouldn't want more there. Yes, the shower/wash area is odd. It was, however, in a very good position for the tourist and parking was good - although pricy.

This is a nice boutique hotel in the city. They have creatively renovated the rooms and have made sensible ergonomic decisions about laying out the small rooms. I had a corner room with two ambient light sources, which made a huge difference in how the space felt and lived. It was spotlessly clean and the linens and pillows were very...

This place kind of nickle and dimes you by charging for parking and resort fees. My boyfriend bought a travelzoo deal to here but even with that after being there, there are cheaper and I'm sure better places to stay. Once you get there you find out there is a $30 a night valet/self park fee which you should choose...

Stayed at the Sofia for business for a few nights. Overall it was good. Things that made me rate it lower...found a long black hair on the pillow and I am bald, when running the shower a sewer smell came up from the drain, parking is $30/night, and the last night not all towels were replaced nor the 2 bottles...
