Ann was the perfect host who made us feel so welcome and helped us with all kinds of information even helped us with recommendaitons for our other stays up the coast. Hillcrest was a lovely home full of character and we wished we could have stayed longer. . Old town was a short bus ride away. There were plenty of...

This was our first visit to San Diego. We enjoyed our stay at Hillcrest B&B - (5 days - Gaslamp room). We found the room a bit small for 2 people but overall - the room was comfortable - especially the bed. Ann (owner and innkeeper) was very attentive and friendly. The location of the B&B was great - walking...

This B & B is in the Hillcrest section of San Diego. It is very convenient to bus lines and attractions. It is possible to walk to Balboa Park within an hours time from it's location. Mission Beach is under a 10 minute drive. The restaurants in the Hillcreast are open til about 3 am and are provide ethnically diverse...

Pros: excellent location in a hip neighborhood with lots of good food choices; clean and comfortable rooms; friendly and helpful staff. Con: lame breakfast with no protein--at least hive us a hard-boiled egg, especially for the not-that-inexpensive rates.

Didn't realize that we have great b&b in our own backyard. We needed to get away from our routine, and this was a great spot with lots of restaurants. My favorite part, was relaxing on the porch with a glass of wine, the entire home felt cozy. Ann was very pleasant and enjoyed good conversation. Can't wait to be back!

My wife and I just returned from a three-night stay at Hillcrest House B&B. After five years of using TripAdvisor to book our accommodations, this is the first time we have been disappointed at a top-rated establishment on TA. Hillcrest offers a lovely and cozy character style B&B in a great location close to Balboa Park and many great restaurants....

Thanks for taking the time to post a review of your stay with us at Hillcrest House B&B. Your comments about our great beds, “clean and charming” accommodation, and hip neighborhood are mentioned a lot in guests reviews. I’m really sorry, you were disappointed in our healthy breakfast buffet. I realize that some travelers do want a hot egg-bacon breakfast,...

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hillcrest House Bed & Breakfast in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego. I have nothing but great things to say about Ann and her charming house. The room was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The Hillcrest House is definitely a welcome and homey change of pace from chain hotels. The...

Had an excellent stay here. The entire house felt cozy, the rooms were clean, breakfast was great, and the host was super friendly and helpful with helping us plan our day. Location was good. We managed to see plenty of stuff just by walking and riding the bus. Highly recommended!

The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spacious with a nice after shower robe. Breakfast was enjoyable with Ann and the other guests. Ann was very helpful.
