Last year we stayed in an airbnb that was basically a dorm room. This year we did it right. The location is fantastic if you want to be downtown. The rooms are stylish and comfy. I wish we had more time to enjoy the rooftop pool area. It's beautiful. Had a great breakfast sandwich at the restaurant and the morning...

Thank you Jan D for this fantastic review. I'm thrilled to see that your Aztec Homecoming Weekend visit was a world of difference from last year! I'm so happy that you found our newly renovated rooms to be stylist and comfy too. Our new Executive Chef is changing things up at JSix and it sounds like you enjoyed some of...

Really enjoyed staying here. Staff were very helpful. Loved the rooftop pool. Location right next to Gaslight District offered a wide variety of places to eat and drink, not to mention Kimpton's wonderful wine hour and morning coffee. Minutes away by Uber to San Diego Zoo and Coronado. Walking distance to the ballpark. Room was nicely appointed and essentially clean...

Great ambiance, professional staff and centrally located in downtown San Diego-I was there on a business trip. Everything I needed to do was within walking distance. Rooms were expensive (over $250 per night), drinks at the bar were around $12, food in restaurant was grossly over-priced. Internet was intermittent on the 10th floor, which made it hard to work from...

Thank you MJPO501 for taking time to write about your recent visit. I'm very sorry to see that you found the value for price to be lower than expected. I really like the location and find the staff very helpful! George Williams, front desk manager, does all he can to make things right, a real gentleman! I had a problem and he was more than generous and helpful resolving the issue! Valet guys are friendly and helpful with a smile! And, they are so sweet to visiting dogs too!...

I pulled up and thought OK this is another downtown hotel. Well that is where I was wrong. The staff is super friendly no matter what time of day you talk to them. The hotel was hip and up-scale on the inside. The rooms are well done not to flashy but just right for the area. The roof top pool...

I love the Kimpton brand, but something was missing at the Solomar. For starters $49 a night valet parking, which is absolutely a joke, but it’s not! There is a municipal parking lot a block away for $15 a night which I had to pry out of the valet attendants. I am not cheap, but I am practice. The place...
