Located right in the middle of the gas lamp district there is always a lot to do. The hostel was very nice and clean, it had an exciting vibe that attracts great people. I would recommend paying a bit more for the rooms that are less congested and out of the way as they see less foot traffic

I stayed here over halloween weekend. The hostel had few things on and the gaslamp quarter where this hostel is situated was very busy. Staff were friendly and able to help me out when my bag had not arrived when I flew into the states. The free breakfast was tasty and fresh. Would stay here again.

An affordable, clean, and fun place within walking distance of much of San Diego's best places of interest. They also offer shuttle service to various places, such as the beach or the zoo. A great way to explore San Diego if you don't want to rent a car.

I have stayed at much better hostels, but being in san diego ! ~ well, how can you go wrong ! lol It was too small, and very staff oriented. So, if you ever wanna work in a hostel, this is the ideal one !!! No lift and only a tiny mess area. I did like the upstairs dining loft...

This is only the second hostel in this city that I have looked at. I actually stayed here for two weekdays and ended up in the same room and same bed the second time. It is a lot cleaner and more professional than the other one I stayed in so that's why I didn't chance it with a different hostel....

Only stayed there for one night. It's a nice clean place with good large beds. Very central and lots of things to do around. We're very happy with our stay there and would definitely go back there! And the cafe 21 not far away has amazing food to!

I had a great time staying in this hostel! The downtown location was great, you're really in the heart of the city which is fun. Friendly staff, nice dorms, clean bathrooms and a fun area to hang with the other hostel members.

There's not really anything to fault about this hostel. It's slightly more expensive than the other hostels around but with everything that's included it will work out the same (towels, breakfast, minibus etc.) and you'll be in a clean, friendly place. Some others around the area suck, trust me there.

“If possible, use a locker that's outside of the room so you don't wake people up and don't have to turn on the light. Bottom bunk is convenient but if somebody gets into bed on the top bunk after you, you're going to hear mattress springs.”
