Nice hotel, nice staff. Everyone was very helpful and made our stay that much nicer. Would definetly go back. Love the rooftop viewing area at night. Old time elevators add a nostalgic flair to the hotel and the cafe next door has great food

We loved our stay at the Ramada in Gaslamp. The hotel is old but has so much character. The rooms are small but very clean and was big enough for two of us. The staff (front desk and valet) were always very friendly. The location is perfect for exploring gaslamp. We had a room that faced 6th avenue and we... More

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights, wasn't thrilled with it, staff not very helpful and quite miserable, although the valet parking boys were great. The room was very small and bed not very comfortable, shower was awful. The lifts were the worst I've ever been in, I appreciate that the hotel is very old but I'm sure... More

We loved the 1913 feel of the St. James Hotel ( now the Ramada). It was a classic old urban hotel with high ceilings and a gracious lobby. The room and bathroom were very small but they were very clean and well appointed. We loved the rooftop and being able to take our own wine and food up there to... More

Had a nice stay at this 101 year old hotel.....Brian's 24 restaurant conveniently located off the lobby was a nice bonus.....Bed was very comfortable and nice bedding......older place obviously, but charming at same time.......we chose this area because of the numerous bars and restaurants...and when I say numerous I mean NUMEROUS.....nice rooftop sitting and viewing area on 10th floor as... I get bargin, I get you get what you pay for. What I don't get and won't put up with are safety concerns and insects. For some reason this hotel is listed as an option in my company's travel system. This is not an ideal location for business travelers (in my opinion). I walked into my room to find a... More

The reviews on this hotel while reflecting the true experiences and feelings of the writers, seem to fail to take into account the reason for the hotel to be in its modus operandi. Almost everything the participants perceived to be a negative is part of the reason for the charm of the hotel. When I stayed there in 2012, they... More
