Hotel's Favourite
I can't say enough about the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston Bayside. It is the only hotel I stay at when visiting Boston. I've wanted to try others and I still may someday, but for now I stick to Boston Bayside. It's not a terribly long ride to South Station, about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic, and the staff is amazing. The most welcoming hotel, great cookies, love the bottled water, awesome staff... can't say enough good things about this hotel.

I was excluded from free wifi and breakfast because I was not a loyal member. I paid the same price as everyone else yet didn't get the same service. I was very disappointed. I would choose a hotel that treats all its customers equally.

I was in Boston for a conference and in 2022, hotel prices are sky high. It's not a problem finding a hotel in Boston for $300+ per night. Finding one below $200 is a problem. Luckily, I booked this for $175/night and the value is okay for the money. Located in South Boston, the clientele is a bit on the wild side. Raucous in the bar but the room was decently soundproofed. Generally speaking, hotel staff is good. Reception on check-in was very welcoming and most of the staff is very genuine in their enthusiasm to serve. But housekeeping was a bit of a mess. For me, I book hotels because I want the comforts of hotel living, and a hallmark of that is daily cleaning of the room. I noticed signs that said some kind of story about helping the environment by reusing towels and that housekeeping won't clean your room unless you specifically ask. I hate that. I'm not paying $175/night so I can live like I'm at an AirBnB. I come to a hotel for the service. The difficult part was that when I asked reception the next morning for the cleaning, when I returned that night, nothing had been done. This continued on for another day. Finally, the receptionist that checked me in made sure it got done. That's two days of actual requests that were ignored. That's infuriating and unacceptable. One night, I needed a fork so I went downstairs to the little cafe and had a difficult time getting a fork from the staff there. What a pain. The available breakfast had a $17 charge. It looked to be typical hotel breakfast and I can find a much better breakfast around the city for $17 and never had a meal there. Parking was $11/night and was convenient enough in a lot next door with very ample parking. Never had an issue finding a parking spot no matter what time I returned. The room itself was decently appointed. I had the Accesible room which offer a lot of space. Bathroom amenities were nice and the towels were comfortable. One of the things most lauded about Doubletrees are their cookies. I finally had these fabled cookies and they were fantastic and always available. Until the very last night when they must have run out because the cookies they had on offer were a pale comparison to the real deal. A disappointment. Perhaps it's better to disappoint with no cookie than with an inferior cookie.

Outdated property - pretty run down. Completely overpriced at US$ 164/night. Still no room service (beds, towels, refresh coffee supplier, etc. ). Convenient access to the JFK/UMass subway station. Breakfast for US$ 18 was an atrocity
