Granted it's on me not researching better, this one time, due to a college deadline. The Pro's- A comfortable king size bed and clean linen. A small fridge and a good size closet with ironing board- iron. The Con's- The tub was dirty, the sink was almost clogged. The window shades in the bathroom were old, dirty and broken. The musty smell of of the room permeated all my clothing. The thermostat can't be controlled- it's sealed. No elevator and no breakfast. The lobby it's dark and rundown. Walls are paper thin, lucked out there were not many people staying at this place. Early in the morning, I heard the very loud phone conversation of the next door guest.
I chose this hotel because it is conveniently located between BC and BU. I was visiting with my daughter to tour colleges. We were concerned when we arrived about how empty it seemed. Around 9:30 at night while my daughter and I were lying in our beds watching TV a man literally pushed through our locked door! I thought it was someone trying to get into the room next door but when I heard banging that seemed to be right at our door, I got up to find the door opening into our room and a man starting to step into the room 😱 When I yelled, the man backed out. I had locked the door from the inside and put the chain slide on which he broke and was lying on the ground. We immediately packed and left. Receptionist said it was the maintenance man. What was the maintenance man doing breaking into a room unannounced at 9:30 on a Sunday night!! He didn’t knock, announce himself or anything and when the door didn’t open he had to use force. WTF!!…
Ac don’t work 81 in room. Didn’t have hot water one night. And dirty. Only one towel in room, no wash clothes. No fan for the hot room. Have the door wide open for ac. Airbnb false Advertising. Do not recommend.
I arrived a little later than expected and yet kieth was there with a warm welcome. His performance was above my expectations. kieth amd his fellow staff made Boston my favorite city to visit your favorite guest Emily Porter
After a long night we had made a late reservation and the concierge the Christopher Clarke was nothing but hospitable and helpful when it was extremely cold and nothing seemed to be going our way. We at first planned on a quick trip to Brighton but after a talk with chris he mentioned some key area spots for us to check out and we are now staying the weekend. I just wanted to say thank you to hotel Boston for the hospitality!
We stayed here because of the location it is in the middle of Boston College and Boston University the street cars can get you to either place in about 15 minutes the hotel was on the cheaper end as far as prices the hotel can use some updating but the room was clean the staff was super cool and helpful
What a dump. Good and sheets all over after we were told it was cleaned and there was to be a 24 hours Covid vacancy. Smelled unreal. Asked if we wanted an upgrade and I laughed at them. Don’t ever go here it’s. Negative should be torn down staff was clueless too nice but clueless. Within 4 minutes they forgot who I was and what room they just issued me
The location is perfect! About 15 minutes from down town and ubers are everywhere. Nice restaurants around the area as well, but that’s about the only good we had on this stay. The room was very small and had a somewhat strange odor, like stale smoke. The bathroom door was broken up and the tub was filthy. We had the room for 2 nights, Tuesday and Wednesday and checked out on Thursday. We spent all day Wednesday exploring and got back to the room around 6. This is when we discovered that both of our keys did not work anymore. Panic had taken over think the worst that our stuff was gone. When we got to the front desk he told us that they checked out our keys already, even though we had the room for another night. He promised that our stuff was still there and thankfully it still was. When we got back in no one had been there to clean the room. We had no new towels or anything. I would not recommend this place for more than aa day if that. Did discover the Brighton cafe and that was the best part of hotel Boston.…
They do not disclose this, but management decided to not offer heated rooms until after mid- October. It was 48 degrees and when confronting the front desk they said they just found out themselves. All of the bed linens had not been changed prior to arrival. It was gross. Towels were not available and had to be requested. Tempted due to proximity and interior pictures, but it is an awful experience.
Booked this hotel because my boyfriend and I were coming to Boston for a baseball game. We arrived in Boston earlier than we could check in (around 11:00am) and our room wasn’t ready, which was fine since we were early. The staff was pleasant and let me leave the car there until we came back. Our time walking around Boston ran a longer than expected so I called the hotel at around 4:00pm to confirm my car was still fine there and we wouldn’t be able to check in until after the game. They confirmed this was fine. I then said “we don’t anticipate being this late, but your check in states you are allowed to check in until 3:00am?” The female receptionist confirmed. We inevitability ended up getting back to the hotel around 2:00am and we were told our room was given away. I was on the brink of tears and asked how considering I had a reservation, and check in was for another hour. The male receptionist who was now unfortunate enough to deal with this, said check in was only until midnight and my room was supposedly given away but he couldn’t confirm when. I was shocked, it’s 2:00am and now my hotel was not only saying that I needed pay for the room AND ANOTHER ROOM if they could find one (which yes I paid for TWO ROOMS) but also to start looking for another hotel just in case, even though the time on the booking information says 3:00am (see photos, as of today it still has the 3:00am until check in time). My boyfriend essentially said “no way, you’re going to figure something out for us” to the receptionist as I was about to start crying. So here is the absolutely gross part. The receptionist suddenly “found” a room. He walked up with us, with a key in hand AND OPENED THE DOOR ON A COUPLE SLEEPING. The receptionist was as shocked as we were. He goes back to the computer and find another room AND DOES IT AGAIN TO ANOTHER COUPLE. I walked in on two different couples sleeping. I was appalled. That still isn’t the worst part. The third time he “found a room” he went up alone and said it was perfect. My boyfriend and I were so thankful and in all fairness this gentleman was doing everything he could to help us BUT THE ROOM WAS USED AND TRASHED (see pictures). My boyfriend storms down stairs while the receptionist is on the phone with the manager and let’s him know the room is Filthy, garbage full, towels used, literally 100 pillows that must’ve been from all the rooms. (A girl came into the lobby when we were trying to check in and said her room had no pillows, well we found them all which can’t be Covid safe). We ended up sleeping in the car because it was so gross. The receptionist was so apologetic the next morning and assured me THE MANAGER WAS ISSUING A REFUND SINCE NOTHING WAS CLEAN, instead they didn’t (shocker) and when I tried to dispute it on my credit card because i didn’t get the services I paid for, they fought the dispute. So they did end up getting one night pay from me, since I paid for two rooms to not even stay there. Just don’t waste you’re money, it’s gross, poorly managed, and probably acts as a Covid Petri dish with the way they handle their cleaning service.…
