This is a fine small hotel situated in the Back Bay Area, on the shady Commonwealth avenue, which I consider the loveliest street of downtown Boston. I wouldn't call it exactly a b&b. Rather it is an elegant, classical style boutique hotel, albeit with a minimal number of staff. It is an excellent relatively affordable choice for classical architecture/ atmosphere...

Handsome common areas and staircases, antiques in every room, pleasant breakfast area, ideal location on Commonwealth Avenue: a little more in the way of comfort and you would have a hit. The mattress in my single room was old stiff and the reading chair was hard on the back. This was a significant consideration since there was (quite rightly for...

Thank you for your comments. Several of the A/C units have been replaced since your stay. The shared bath is only used by occupants of the single rooms without bath. That is 2 rooms (2 guests) per floor. The other two rooms on each floor are larger, suitable for 1-4 occupants each. These rooms have private, ensuite baths. We do...

I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful place. It is beautiful, the staff is nice and you feel right at home. They have a nice breakfast each morning from 7:45-10am, and coffee, water, and fresh baked cookies throughout the day. It also couldn't be in a nicer location! It is really a gem. Thank you to the owner...

Great place to stay. Unlike most B&B's this has an elevator. Didn't get a chance to try breakfast due to early meetings. Rooms are clean and quiet. Shared a washroom and never has an issue with access or cleanliness.

I stayed overnight at the College Club of Boston before catching an international flight out of Logan Airport. The location was convenient to the Back Bay Station I arrived on by train. They let me store my luggage the next morning while I explored Boston before heading to Boston airport. I was given clear instructions to enter the building, greeted...

Very quaint and histsorically decorated. At first, my husband cringed when there was no TV in the room, but we weren't there to stay and watch TV. There is one available in the delightful breakfast room. Our room was on the street, and we did hear street noise. We will stay there again, just making sure our room is in...

Stayed here with my wife on US tour. Booked three nights and got out of there after one....even though I lost my money for the 2nd night. The place is so dilapidated. Don't be fooled by the pictures on their website! Every board in the place creaks, the rooms are furnished with items yr. grandma threw away. Our bed (which...

In our second stay at the College Club of Boston, we once again found ourselves in a large room furnished with antiques. On the fourth floor in a room at the back, we slept comfortably with no street noise. The tiled bath and large shower were clean and well supplied with towels. We did not miss the room television or...

My husband and I met our daughter & her husband at The College Club of Boston for the weekend. We booked two en-suite rooms on the second floor--both furnished with vintage charm and attractively decorated. The location was perfect; we all arrived via public transportation & opted out of renting a car. We would stay there again.

I stayed here with my daughter for three nights, it was an awesome experience and I certainly will return next time I'm in Boston for leisure. You cannot beat the location! Wow, right around the corner from everything. Arlington metro station only a few minutes walk. Such a great and lovely part of town. The B&B was a stately home,...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
