Suited what I needed as I was out all day. My only gripe was the carpets are disgusting. I knew there was no wifi in the bedrooms so no surprise there, and I never found breakfast if there was any. A really nice diner called Flour round the corner was great though. With added wifi and new carpets this would...

We had a room on the 7th floor which although somewhat tired was clean and more than adequate for our needs. Although the bath was chipped we had hot water and clean towels and clean sheets. We had coffee making facilities and a flat screen television. Yes, although the hotel is tired ( it is to be demolished in 2...

Booked this hotel for its central location. Few days before arriving, read the awful reviews here and we were concerned but too late to change accommodation. So we went in with the least expectation. We must be lucky, our room and bathroom were not as bad as some reviewers had. The furniture was old and scratchy, has seen better days...

This hotel its terrible, old and dirty. Dont have wifi in rooms (only at lobby) I stayed for a one night and for sure i don't want to repeat. Smells old, moldy . Bed was clean no comfy at all but at least clean. Desk, night tables and tv armor are very old with scratches. Bathroom was disgusting, moldy, dirty....

Will never return. This hotel should have been out of business a long time ago. To be fair, let me start with the positive. Clean bedding and towels; no signs of bedbugs. Has smoke detector and sprinklers. That's it. All else leaves a multitude to be desired. The entrance/facade is very difficult to find.Signage poor. Have to climb many steps up...

Stayed here recently. You are a little fooled by the foyer as it gives off the impression of an old classic hotel. Rooms are small, everywhere in the hotel has a musty smell. The hallways reminded me of the shining. Carpet is all pulled up and you trip quite easily. The worst was the bathroom, when you took a shower...

I rarely review unpleasant travel experiences (I was going to say "never" but this is my first, so I guess saying "never" would be lying). I usually try to find a reasonable (or unreasonable) excuse, for example that maybe it was just bad timing or something happened to go wrong that day etc. But I really wish I hadn't booked...

My wife and I stayed here because a Kaplan seminar was located here. I would never stay here again. The lobby and elevators reeked of cigarette smoke. Getting in and out of the hotel with luggage was awful. The entire hotel needs to be gutted and rebuilt. The rooms are small, dated and dirty. Forget WiFi in the rooms. Our...

Nothing fancy at all, don't expect it! We stay here for the Marathon because the staff and service are world class! The price point can't be beat for the location and it's clean and quiet. You are literally 4 blocks from the finish line. Dunkin is in the building, Starbucks across the street, Orange line around the corner and the Mall...

I made the mistake of not reading the reviews before I booked. This place doesn't match the upscale locale. The musty smell and stained carpet meet you upon entry. The room was well lite with a good view. The sheets were freshly laundered. The bathroom was another story. My Lysol spray couldn't fix that mess. The tub should have been...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
