First time at a Canopy and this one was brand new in a primo Boston area, walking distance to so much including North End, Faneuil Hall, Aquarium and more. Hip vibe, high on design but lacking on room size and comfort feel. Hooks vs. closet, have to walk down hall to get filtered water, etc. $18 breakfast credit for elites however had to call post stay to have invoice corrected. Staff admit their system doesn’t work correctly. Just felt like I should’ve have to chase after a $15 credit but no problem in rectifying.

This hotel - as pointed out by other reviewers - has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, they have a few things to iron out. I'll give a review of what was good and what was bad. Location - Good. Interior - Good Rooms - Good (Though in a few years, this won't hold up since the furniture is already chipping) Service - Bad (This does not include the service provided by the gentlemen who checked us in - I think his name was Logan? His colleagues could learn a thing or two from him) Parking - Bad Communication - Bad We had originally booked another hotel but decided to go ahead and cancel it (paying a night's penalty to book this one) because it was new and central. Big mistake. Before booking, we had called the hotel to ask about the rooms. We said we were celebrating our anniversary and wanted something special. We were originally going to book a City view King room. The person on the phone told us: "Well for a bit more, why not book a corner room! You'll get a city view and another view as well!" - On that advise, we paid more and booked a corner room. Due to the long weekend, the US border was backed up and we arrived later than we had wanted to. We called many times and they never picked up. When they did, they put us on hold - we waited 40 mins in the car while driving listening to the hold music only to have it disconnected. Called back, same thing. We arrived around 5.30pm and were told all the 'city view' facing corner rooms were now occupied and they could only offer us one on the lowest floor facing a parking garage and a back alley with trash. We said no of course - we were told corner rooms were city view rooms to which we were told - that was not true. We explained that we made the booking after consulting one of their colleagues over the phone and were told this. We didn't get an apology (except from Logan who was really nice - but wasn't able to do much for us). Their website is extremely misleading too. The pictures showing a corner room show their prized views. It is not the case. I advise anyone who must stay here to just book the cheapest room - you are not going to get any views guaranteed. We were eventually 'downgraded' to a different room that had a city view. Downgraded because it was cheaper than what we paid for. We paid $1160 for 2 nights in the corner room. This one came up to $960 instead. One of the ladies at check in had managed to find us a room with a city view. There was another woman there whom we found pretty rude. She was militantly trying to deny us the room even though her other 2 colleagues had cleared it. She really should not be working in hospitality. Not only was she rude, she either wasn't very good at her job, or she was trying to make our lives difficult on purpose because we refused to accept how we were being treated. We also asked to be refunded for the difference in room pricing - to which they said they could not do anything. They said since we booked through expedia, only expedia could refund us. Complete and utter lies! We called expedia who called the hotel. Expedia told us the manager would get in touch with us to rectify it - he didn't. We went down and spoke to him and he said he'd send the info to expedia to process the refund. Long story short - expedia didn't have to do anything, the hotel just had to send the payment correction to Expedia. Once again, they were either bad at their jobs or on purpose trying to make me suffer for not accepting the awful way we were being treated. We're not holding our breaths to ever see this refund. The manager himself didn't offer an apology or anything. Apart from Logan and the room service staff who were very friendly - it seems like everyone working at this hotel is always angry - who wants that? What was supposed to be a nice anniversary getaway was anything but. They put up a nice pride flag on their counter but couldn't even wish us a happy anniversary. Are we lesser of importance because we were a same sex couple? We felt brushed off and unwelcomed. We were made to feel like we were trying to game their system when really they dropped the ball and we were jsut trying to get what we were promised. Then comes parking, we paid $80 for 2 days of parking with in and out privileges. Nope. The system gave us a QR code which the garage couldn't scan. So we couldn't use our car and explore other parts of Boston like we had planned. Also, the parking is not in the hotel but down the street in a parking garage. It is old, smells bad and DANGEROUS. On the last day when we went to get our car, we saw someone trying our door handle before moving on to the next car and the next. Another guy was his lookout perched near the stairs. One of the cars had a broken window and there was shattered glass around it. Go figure. There is no attendant or security in this garage you pay $40 for a day that is accessible to anyone. You can pay $24 a day and park down the street in another garage by the dock. Or just stay in a better hotel. Overall, while the rooms were nice - for now - the service was bad. The miscommunication on their part was bad. The lack of ownership for the mistake was bad. The way we were treated on our anniversary was bad. The parking was bad. No, we would not come back here. We rely on reviews alot before booking and we hope this can help you avoid a bad experience. It really does ruin a trip!

Great location! Easy walk to North End amazing food and right next to Faneuil Hall and the New England Aquarium!! This hotel opened in 2022 and still feels very new. Super clean. Friendly staff. No negatives. Traveled with our two kids (6 and 9 years of age) and everyone had a great time. We were in room 520 which was very close to the elevator but never heard outside noise. Great room. The view over saw the street market which was fun to watch albeit a little messy as you can see from the photos. It is directly behind Bell in Hand and Union Oyster House (see other reviews on these locations) in fact you can see from one of the photos from the room the Union Oyster House signage was very visible from our room. Also look at my reviews from North End restaurants and other Boston attractions. The Rose Town Kitchen & Bar restaurant inside the Canopy on the second level was awesome. One of the better hotel restaurants I’ve been to with amazing seating along a counter height area with windows opening up to the fresh spring air. See my other review about the Rose.

I reserved and paid $500 for a premium city view. Even though I am a diamond member. I just didn’t want to count on any upgrades. When I arrived they gave me a handicap accessible room on the second floor with traffic right outside my window. Huh?

Maxsmart, I am sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your room. You were upgraded to one of our King Bedroom Suites - these rooms offer more square footage, a separate living area, and nearly floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Greenway. We hope you give us another shot, and we will be happy to find you a room that better suits your preferences!

Excellent new hotel ( 3 months old in June 2022) between Quincy market and North end. Crosswalk at Hanover street. Hilton Honors Diamond member, booked with weekend certificates. Acknowledged membership, dining credit and 1 pm late checkout. Front desk was friendly, especially Elma. Checkin was busy so prepare to store your bags. Location is excellent, in front of the park on top of the big dig. Second floor had a nice lounge/ restaurant/ bar area with tons of space to hang out with family. Nice aroma throughout the hotel. Rooms had views of the park/ north end or the back alley/union street sign. Well designed, had a mini fridge, nestles so coffee maker and safe. Shampoo, conditioner, wash and lotion were in large pump bottles. Bed was comfortable. Didn't have toothbrush, razor in the room but you could ask if you need them. No bathrobes or slippers. They had a filling station for water and ice near the elevator. Rose restaurant was convenient and had nice views. It was easy to find a table and service was good. No complaints, enjoyed our stay and will be coming back if we wanted to visit the north end.

Will be our go to hotel to stay in Boston. Best location close enough to everything to walk to and 10 minute Uber to the airport. Upgraded to city view (Greenway) as a diamond which was a perfect view. The cold brew coffee at the restaurant was great although food was a little overpriced especially with all the other great places so close to eat. We will be back.

Other reviewers have commented on the superior location and the beautiful, clean, comfortable rooms and roomy, nicely appointed bathrooms. There was cool fridge drawer and Nespresso coffee station. I LOVED the filtered water station with the delicious ice that is on each floor so you can refill your own bottles or the glass bottles provided with the room, eliminating waste as well as the customary silly $3 upcharge for using hotel-provided bottled water. I think the price was very reasonable for the location that lets you park at the hotel (valet was around $50 a day) and walk to all the major, nearby sights of Boston. We had an outstanding, reasonably priced breakfast in the Rose Kitchen, the hotel restaurant, which overlooks the Greenway. The windows were open, the view was amazing, and the food really was not your typical hotel breakfast, it was gourmet! They gave our kids full sized, new packages of colored pencils to use to color the kids menu/activity page. We would go back in a heartbeat, but the most AMAZING thing is what happened with what DIDN'T come home with us: our daughter left her beloved stuffed animal, George, in the room. You have to file a report online and after a couple days of not hearing back, I reached out to manager Laura Kisty, who immediately emailed me back, looping in the head of housekeeping. We had a volley of pleasant emails, and eventually she told me that unfortunately George was not recovered. She then blew me away by telling me that somehow she had googled and tracked down a replacement and SENT US A NEW ONE! If that isn't stellar customer service, I don't know what! There's a reason we're Diamond members and stay exclusively with Hilton properties whenever we travel for business or pleasure. Can't wait to come back (and have dinner in the North End right across the street) ;-)

Colleen, thank you so much for the amazing review and highlighting some of the features that we are so proud of. I'm glad you got to enjoy the incredible offerings in Rose, while enjoying the great view. And when it comes to George, well... we just needed a happy ending for your daughter and I'm so glad we were able to make that happen. Can't wait to see you again for your next visit!

Stayed 2 nights at this property in May for a sightseeing weekend. Cannot beat the location. Minutes from Quincy Market, the Freedom Trail and the North End for great Italian food. Just a few months old so everything is still nice and new. Extremely friendly staff and helpful with nearby attractions. LOVED the Boston-themed wallpaper with images of Paul Revere and Abigail Adams amongst others. Stayed in a room with two Queen beds with plenty of room. Great sized bathroom. Loved the fridge drawer to store treats and filtered water was provided on the floor. One minor FYI: Hotel allows dogs so great if you are a dog lover. We did hear a dog barking in the room next door often - so if dogs are not your “thing” then might want to stay elsewhere.

We stayed in room 335 at the Canopy by Hilton in Boston on 5/31-6/4. The hotel is brand new and was in great condition. It was very quiet and convenient to local landmarks like Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, City Hall, LongWharf, Aquarium, North End, etc. Very easy walk to lots of restaurants. We were pleased at the cleanliness of the hotel. I was expecting a small room like what might be found in NYC but this was a comfortable size. We had a room with 2 queen beds. They were very comfortable. The bathroom was larger than expected as well. Our only problem was that during the last night of our stay, we were awakened around midnight to a leaking pipe from the ceiling above the shower. We had to wake up early the next morning to catch our flight so it was inconvenient to have to relocate to another room in the middle of the night but the staff was fairly prompt in getting us a new room. I realize that things like this happen and it is nobody’s fault but it would have been nice to have recognized our inconvenience. Perhaps they could have given us some extra Hilton Honors points for out troubles but I guess at that time of night the person in charge wasn’t able to authorize that. Despite our last night’s events, I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

The hotel is extraordinarily well located in the heart of downtown Boston with careful attention to design and layout. The rooms are well appointed, stylish, modern and comfortable with super comfy beds and triple pane windows so you can’t hear any noise from outside. The staff was super helpful and accommodating and the gym is top notch! It has a delicious restaurant called the Rose Kitchen which overlooks the Greenway from an incredible vantage point and has a ton of tvs and sitting nooks to watch sports!
