I read the other reviews and was seriously concerned, but had few affordable options for a five night stay in Boston. It's clean, though run down. I see someone else wrote about the dirty carpet leading upstairs--I wouldn't call it dirty but just old and worn. I did use a shared bathroom, but had it essentially to myself. It was... More

We changed 3 rooms in a night; in the first we had the tube of the bathroom upstair that passed through our room so it was like sleeping under the Niagara waterfalls (not considering how dirty and old the room was). The bad of the second room had one leg broken so when I sat I felt down whith the... More

I really want to write a funny review about how dreadful this place is, but I don't want anyone to mistake my lighthearted humour as any form of affection or enjoyment of this hellhole. To be fair though the WiFi is bloody good, everything else is dreadful though, don't put yourself through this. If Nixon was reincarnated and came back... More

Farrington Inn was the weirdest, scariest hotel I ever encountered. I was confused. It looked like a cross between an old west hostel from the 1800s, an old boarding house of the same period, and an old haunted house. I couldn't get in for five minutes because the front door stays locked until the one loan inn helper is available... More

We travelled around the world last year from July to September and the absolute worst accomodation we had - and very ironically one of the most expensive was this place. I still have shudders thinking about the shared filthy mouldy bathroom and the smelly old decrepit bedroom my husband 12 year old son and I were forced to pay a... More

When you pay some er $145, - you would expect a reasonable standard for a B&B. But at this place it is not the case. You need to share a bathroom at this price. $ 40 must be added if you wish to have own barhroom. OK then, coming back from town, room service would have been arround. But NO.... More

I love staying in old inns in midtowns. I have tolerance for quirky things. But cleanliness is a cheap ROI for securing a good traveler's experience. First, don't call yourself an inn or hotel is you are not going to offers certain amenities. I had to request a bar of soap and towel. Sweeping and mopping the general would take... More

I booked this spot because it was cheap and extremely convenient to downtown Allston, Mass (a neighborhood in the town of Boston) and a venue, "Great Scot", where some friends, the band GREY SEASON" were having a CD Release show/party. My son was flying in from Houston and I was driving north from Long Island. When I told my son... More

So first thing that anyone should realise is that this place is cheap for a reason. Is it modern? No (the carpets and overall decor is extremely dates). Is it a bit creepy? Yes (there's blood red walls, an organ and locked doors in your room that seemingly lead nowhere) - The Shining analogies aren't wrong). HOWEVER....are the staff friendly?... More

I wasn't expecting luxury but the decor of this place looks like it hasn't been re decorated since when it was first built. The room felt dusty and the carpet looked like it hadn't been replaced in years. On the other hand, the bathroom wasn't too bad, the wifi wasn't bad and it was easy to get to Harvard and... More
