Stayed at the Charlesmark last weekend for 4 nights- my first time to Boston- it really was a lovely hotel.First of all the location was ideal- so central to everything and perhaps even too close to Newbury street for my own good!- did way too much shopping there!! It's a very clean, modern style hotel and the room more than...

Unbeatable location. Simplicity with style. Helpful staff. Rooms are small but well appointed. Continental breakfast is limited and carb-heavy but good quality: oatmeal packets, excellent fruit, crullers, and bakery bagels. Coffee...worth walking to a nearby spot for the real thing.

Another great stay at the Charlesmark. I've literally been coming here for years - like 10. The location is great, the staff is great, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Keep in mind that this is a small, boutique hotel and the rooms are small - but you won't find a better bargain in the Back Bay.

This hotel, conveniently located on Boylston Street near the Copley "T" Station, is a small hotel, but the staff (Katheryn, Lee, and others) made making reservations and our stay very pleasant. The bar menu and atmosphere was a bonus as well as the continental breakfast. We will stay here again.

First of all, the location is excellent and Boston is a great city. That is all this hotel has going for it though. My wife and I stayed there over new years. The windows of our room looked out on to a brick wall so close I could touch it, and minimal light got through. The windows themselves leaked and...

This is a small boutique hotel. It is in a nice location steps from the metro. The nightlife in the area is quiet, as it is more commercial, but the hotel bar was busy and serves excellent cocktails. I'm sure the summer months are a bit more lively. The room was very modern, but very small, which I was fine...

The hotel is in a great location; I was surprised how reasonably priced it was. Our room was very quiet and clean. Some would consider it small, but it had a lot of shelves and drawers under the bed to store items. The bed was very comfortable. The bath towels were large and fluffy. Having poor eye sight, my only...

This place is perfect for a get away. A free breakfast and wifi in a perfect location. We were in a bind as the hotel I had booked on hotels.com was the wrong date. We arrived and the hotels.com folks found the Charlesmark. We walked over and Katheryn was amazing. She upgraded our room as long as we didn't need...

Only had one night at this place. Not delighted to have to drag heavy luggage down steps, up steps, down steps, up steps, to get to (and from) my basement room, supposedly one of the best the hotel has. I have read some other reviews of this hotel and maybe I had bad luck. The TV didn't work, the room...

I stayed at the Charlesmark Hotel for 2 nights in September 2016. From check in to check out the staff were amazing and friendly. I got upgraded rooms which I really appreciated. I was travelling alone and never felt unsafe or unwelcome. The reception staff, housekeeping, bar staff were all incredibly friendly, saying hi etc. The hotel is situated right...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
