Karen and Jon are an absolute delight. So helpful to us first time Boston Tourists. Told us the BEST places to eat and how to get around town. They make your bed every day, give you breakfast and even call a cab for you, really kind people. It was a lovely birthday on the Green Turtle Yacht! Our friends are...

A perfect start to our long-awaited new England fall-peeping tour - a houseboat in the midst of luxury yachts in historic Boston Charlestown harbour. Jon and Karen are so welcoming and knowledgeable - they advised on tours, where to eat (Navy Yard Bistro - excellent suggestion), supplied craft beers , delicious home-cooked breakfast in the sun ( cornbread, french toast...

We stayed in Green Turtle 1 - a last minute booking made on a Sunday for the next day! Both Jon and Karen are absolutely lovely and Green Turtle a fantastic concept. Accommodation and breakfast - first class in all respects. Very relaxing sitting "on the dock of the bay" and so easy to get to the B&B and travel...

This is an absolutely lovely and wonderful B&B. The owners are extraordinarily kind and knowledgeable. The room was spotless and excellent. They even provider snacks and drinks you might need between meals. Breakfast was amazing. French Toast with Peaches the first morning and the second we had breakfast sandwiches with fried potatoes. Finding your way around from here is startlingly...

What a fantastic, adventurous and romantic alternative to your typical hotel experience! Perfect location safely ensconced within the Charlestowne Navy Yard. John and Karen were informative, caring and exuberant hosts. If we ever return to Boston, we will without reservation book with the Green Turtle!

We booked the Green Turtle 2 as a place to visit with friends we hadn't seen in a year. We all love Boston but wanted to find a place where, after a full day in the city, we could spend time together just sitting with a glass of wine and chatting. Green Turtle 2 fit the bill perfectly! First of...

Staying in Charlestown

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlestown’s hilly roads, narrow streets and gaslight lamps, make it an enticing neighborhood to visit. Follow the Freedom Trail over the Washington St bridge from the North End or take the scenic water locks to Paul Revere Park. Walk through City Square and stroll down cute Main street, wandering up the windy residential streets to Monument Square, where you can learn about the city’s history along with a great view of Boston at the Bunker Hill Monument. While it’s not a huge area, there are some excellent restaurants. Find your way to the Charlestown Navy Yard, which is a developing area with lots of condos and an additional site for Massachusetts General Hospital research centers. Here you will also find the USS Constitution Museum. After you’re done, hop on an MBTA ferry at the dock on Baxter street and zip on over to Long Wharf and the New England Aquarium.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Green Turtle is a floating bed and breakfast as luxurious as it is unique. Set in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard on Boston Harbor, the Green Turtle offers an expansive view of the Boston skyline along with the comfort and amenities of a modern bed and breakfast. The USS Constitution (Old Ironsides), the Bunker Hill Monument and the Freedom Trail are a short walk away. You can take the water ferry to numerous points along the waterfront. There are dining choices from bagels to world famous dining. The Green Turtle houseboat and yachts were designed for comfort above all and the only reminder you are floating in Boston Harbor is the sound of the gulls, motion of the sea and the reflection of the ocean dancing on the ceiling. It is delightful starting your day sipping coffee or enjoying a cold beverage after a day of sightseeing while sitting on your dock chairs or aft deck watching the harbor traffic and city skyline. The Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast offers 3 boat choices. The Green Turtle I is a houseboat offering two private and separate suites and each has 1 queen sized bed with luxury linens. Each suite(Loggerhead and Sea Turtle) has a kitchenette and a private bathroom en suite. Each suite sleeps 2 or reserve both suites for 4 people. Green Turtle II is a 45 foot motor yacht which sleeps 2 - 6 people. She has 2 private queen staterooms with bathroom and shower in each stateroom, a full sleeper sofa in the living area, a galley and dinette and a great aft deck with comfortable outdoor furniture.
