We stayed in the floating house (house boat) for our visit and couldn't be happier with everything about it! The room was immaculate, warm, beautiful, and inviting with a perfect view of the city. John and Karen were genuinely kind and so helpful... even printing out and bringing to us the Bruins tickets we left in Rhode Island! They provided...

My wife and I stayed two nights in the Green Turtle 3 during our trip to the Northeast last month. This as an amazing experience and such a unique way to stay. It was very easy to get to from the airport and also pretty convenient to get to other parts of Boston. The innkeepers, John & Karen, were simply...

We stayed in the Green Turtle II for our honeymoon in November of 2016. Initially, we were worried that the boat wouldn't be warm enough in case of cold weather. Once we gave Karen and Jon a call, they assured us that the boat would be as warm as we wanted it to be. They were right! Although we had...

We stayed at the Green Turtle with our 3 children and I can't praise it enough! Karen and Jon were great at keeping us updated and Jon met us and took us down to the boat and pointed out restaurants in the area. It is fantastically spacious and well kept. The kids loved it. Beds were super comfortable and Karen...

We loved our stay at Green Turtle! Even though we had a rainy day and night while we were there, we still enjoyed our view and stay! Karen and John were great hosts and breakfast was wonderful! We would gladly stay again and highly recommend it for anyone staying in the Boston area.

We visited Boston to see our daughter for a few days and decided to try something different. We found the Green Turtle floating B&B and gave it a shot. One of the best decisions we made on our trip. Karen and Jon work hard everyday to make sure everything keeps running smooth as silk. Warm cozy room and gentle waves...

The location was fantastic, I loved being by the water and it was great to sit out enjoying the sunshine. There were some issues with parking so make sure you let John know if you need to get your car out of the garage. Otherwise, it was a good stay, easy to get into the city and around.

Staying in Charlestown

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlestown’s hilly roads, narrow streets and gaslight lamps, make it an enticing neighborhood to visit. Follow the Freedom Trail over the Washington St bridge from the North End or take the scenic water locks to Paul Revere Park. Walk through City Square and stroll down cute Main street, wandering up the windy residential streets to Monument Square, where you can learn about the city’s history along with a great view of Boston at the Bunker Hill Monument. While it’s not a huge area, there are some excellent restaurants. Find your way to the Charlestown Navy Yard, which is a developing area with lots of condos and an additional site for Massachusetts General Hospital research centers. Here you will also find the USS Constitution Museum. After you’re done, hop on an MBTA ferry at the dock on Baxter street and zip on over to Long Wharf and the New England Aquarium.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Green Turtle is a floating bed and breakfast as luxurious as it is unique. Set in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard on Boston Harbor, the Green Turtle offers an expansive view of the Boston skyline along with the comfort and amenities of a modern bed and breakfast. The USS Constitution (Old Ironsides), the Bunker Hill Monument and the Freedom Trail are a short walk away. You can take the water ferry to numerous points along the waterfront. There are dining choices from bagels to world famous dining. The Green Turtle houseboat and yachts were designed for comfort above all and the only reminder you are floating in Boston Harbor is the sound of the gulls, motion of the sea and the reflection of the ocean dancing on the ceiling. It is delightful starting your day sipping coffee or enjoying a cold beverage after a day of sightseeing while sitting on your dock chairs or aft deck watching the harbor traffic and city skyline. The Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast offers 3 boat choices. The Green Turtle I is a houseboat offering two private and separate suites and each has 1 queen sized bed with luxury linens. Each suite(Loggerhead and Sea Turtle) has a kitchenette and a private bathroom en suite. Each suite sleeps 2 or reserve both suites for 4 people. Green Turtle II is a 45 foot motor yacht which sleeps 2 - 6 people.
