We loved this place. Great room, comfortable, spotless, relaxing and lovely to stay in a B and B rather than a hotel. James made sure everything ran smoothly. The self serve breakfast was perfect, free wi-fi (as it should be- NY take note!). Lovely location with great restaurants and pubs nearby and a short walk to the gallery and shops....

This is a very beautiful bed and breakfast. It is nicely decorated and well keeped. Everything looks like new and is always very clean. It is very well located in a very beautiful and quiet neighbor. There is a train station near by. James is very friendly as well as the clean lady. They respect a lot your privacy, so...

Fabulous brown stone house, the rooms are tastefully refurbished and stylish. The location is great. Close to the transport, and a pleasant walk in to the City centre. about 20 mins stroll. Breakfast and refreshments via a small shared kitchen are fine. James is a mine of useful local information. This was our second visit and we again weren't disappointed....

Don't have much to add to the reviews that caused us to choose this place for a recent one night stay on our way to Martha's Vineyard: Pros: -- lovely street in Back Bay -- beautiful brownstone restored as a B&B -- comfortable beds, nice bathroom, reasonably sized room -- the owner, Jim, is most responsive and on site Cons:...

Hubby and I stayed here for just under a week and were really impressed. Not ones for B&Bs (the awkward breakfast the next morning, overbearing hosts etc) we were pleasantly surprised. During our stay we hardly saw a fellow guest (although we think it was full the whole time). We were able to come and go as we pleased with...

We had a delightful stay in this immaculate, tastefully appointed B&B on a quiet street in a nice, convenient neighborhood. The proprietor couldn't be more gracious or accommodating. We will definitely return.

Located in a beautiful brownstone building on a charming, quiet street, the Gilded Lily is a refreshing oasis. Just a short walk to shops, restaurants and the T, you can easily explore the city, return to your elegantly appointed room and relax at the end of the day. My husband and I have stayed in Boston many times, but the...

After staying in hotels in the centre of town previous to spending a couple of days in Boston, our stay in this gorgeous, comfortable and well-equipped B&B was a delight. Although close to everything, including great little restaurants, we felt as though we were in a local neighbourhood rather than a big city. Being the beginning of May, the blossoms...

I was in Boston for a conference and then some sight-seeing. Staying at this B&B was a great experience. The room was furnished beautifully and very clean. There is a fully-functional kitchen for guests which I found very convenient, and which was stocked with coffee and breakfast items. The neighborhood was very centrally located with subway stops nearby and many...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
