The staff who checked me was extremely nice. He offered to change our room and even had someone bring keys to the floor we were on so we didn't have to go back down to the lobby. We were moving in from another state and didn't arrive until midnight so his kind gesture was very much appreciated. The front desk staff the following morning was also very polite. Very impressive customer service.
The front desk staff were excellent--very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is stylish, with a nice minimalist vibe, and the location is convenient to Boston College and public transportation. Problems: rooms on the train side are VERY loud. Happily, I was able to move to the other side. I don't think I could have slept on the train side (even-numbered rooms). Also, the bathroom was not as clean as I'd hoped--some orange mold in the shower, etc. Overall, it seemed expensive for what was provided.
If you want room service you have to schedule it. If you try to schedule it they tell you that you have to have at least a three day stay to schedule. This is not an inexpensive hotel! In addition they hit you with $40 a day for valet parking and extra charges that are typical in a city, occupancy tax etc so a 200 dollar stay quickly turns into something closer to three hundred. The staff were polite. They politely said no! Facility is just plain not worth the money.
Hotel room not clean. I found the last guest’s clothing under the bed. The room was not made-up during my stay. No new towels or sheets brought during my stay. The hotel is in a good location if you are visiting Boston College and there are food options near the hotel.
My wife and I have stayed a few times and always liked the hotel until our last visit. We were taken aback by the exorbitant daily parking charge. Although we have Marriott Rewards, the hotel now charges guests $40 a day and has instituted valet parking which is totally unnecessary. If they must have valets to park your car, a daily charge of $20 or $25 would be more reasonable. I really don't know if we will stay at this hotel again.
The main reason that we have stayed in this hotel is that it is near our daughter’s apartment and that it is a pet friendly property. The minimalist decor gives it a clean look and the fact that they have bare floors is a plus. Within the hotel the breakfast is a simple continental breakfast, but their neighbors, Cafe Landwer, fill that spot nicely. For transportation, a few of the green T lines pass very near. In some rooms you can hear the T passing. If you have to stay in Brighton/Boston College area, or if you want to the action at mile 22 of the Boston Marathon, choose this hotel.
I called a few days earlier to verify that we needed a pac n play for a baby, and that we were arriving very late from the west coast. None was available for us when we arrived. Although we got one the next day, sleeping with a young one in a bed was frightening. And although the room has a lovely shower, there is no tub for kiddos. The refrigerators in the room are tiny, and while they offer 2 tiny bottles of water, there was no water in the Hydration station all weekend. Clean place and contemporary, but not great for young families.
Arrived late, room was clean, friendly staff. Got great advice from the front desk for Boston College transportation (free continuous shuttle to the campus from right outside the hotel) Was able to check out later to finish Zoom hearing. Much appreciated customer service!!
We recently stayed in this hotel and we were very pleased. Our room was a good size and had a separate sofa for watching TV. The hotel was clean and the people at the desk were informative and very helpful. The breakfast was not available every day due to covid. But there was a lovely restaurant just around the corner. Travel to the historic places to Lexington and Concord easily. They had parking available for a fee but it was in the area of the hotel...Will definitely stay here again!
We were there for a medical appointment the next morning. We were tired from the trip so we stayed in. Valet, front desk, bartender, breakfast attendant were all top notch staff. There were a couple of minor room cleanliness things noted but otherwise all good. One end of the hotel is right next to the T so I recommend requesting a room away from that end. We had a quiet room (pictured). Breakfast not included but generous. Dinner was also good if you want to stay in. We would stay again.
