Unfortunately, I am very disappointed. Below are the series of events that could happen to you when made a reservation at this hotel. 1. They could contact you (by email) the same day of your arrival to notify that they are overbooked and that they would be canceling the first night of the reservation. 2. Then the people from the AC Hotel Boston Downtown would made a reservation for that first canceled night at another lower category hotel, with smaller rooms and without the amenities you were looking and paid. 3. The next day you would have to get up early to pack again, check out from the lower category hotel and walk with your luggage to the AC Hotel Boston Downtown. 4. They will make you pay on two different hotels, instead of taking care of that paperwork and only pay in one ticket at AC Hotel Boston Downtown. 5. Since there were still no rooms available the next day at the AC Hotel Boston Downtown in the morning, we had to leave our suitcases until they notified me. 6. Due to the unforeseen events that morning (packing again, checking out of the lower category hotel, walking to the AC Hotel Boston Downtown with the luggage, check in at the AC Hotel Boston Downtown, etc) I arrived late to the activity I had on that day (which was the reason for the trip). Also, when the room became available at the AC Hotel Boston Downtown (for which we had to wait a long time) I had to leave the activity I was attending to do the paperwork since the room was at my name and my wife was around waiting for it. 7. At the time of the check out at the AC Hotel Boston Downtown, they did not honor the points corresponding to the first night they accommodated me at the lower category hotel, which was not my choice and one of the reasons I decided to stay at Marriott hotels. I am a Marriott Bonvoy member and I am not worthy of this treatment (as no one should be). In an overbooked situation I would have expected notification with a little more time, a relocation to a hotel with the same facilities and of the same category as the one I booked, that Marriott would have paid that other hotel, that Marriott would honor the points for that night, and offer me the transportation that was necessary. On a positive side, if you decide to stay there, the staff and facilities are very nice. Specially Maria, at the restaurant. She made our stay better with her attentions and customer service excellence. Just be careful with the last minute cancellations and the consequences you will have to deal because of that.

The staff there is extremely nice and professional. And particularly Evan and Robert at the front desk. There’s a great atmosphere and a good vibe in the building and there are nice restaurants in other amenities nearby by foot. That was my first visit and I will definitely go back there!

This is a great place to stay in downtown Boston. The hotel facilities are in great condition, and the staff is uniformly friendly and attentive. I thought that our room near the highway might be problematic in terms of noise, but it really wasn't. The neighborhood that the hotel is located in has a lot of great food offerings. Highly recommend this hotel.

The pillows were hard and the noise from the other rooms was constant so we didn't sleep well. The key to the room didn't work the following day which considering we checked in the day before was odd.

This hotel is so wonderful. From the rooms to the beautiful breakfast area and food, to the little things like the little paper bag, they give you that you can fill with the candy they have out for a dollar. Everybody was so nice and friendly, too. But here’s the thing that stood out the most to me: the customer service. Specifically, I am talking about housekeeping. I left my medication in the refrigerator in my room and this needed to be sent to me ASAP and kept cold. The woman in charge of housekeeping made sure I got my medication, and worked with me on getting the best price with Federal Express. I got my medication by 10 o’clock the next morning and it was still cold! I appreciate so much, the extra lengths they went to to make sure that I got my meds.

The hotel is of course a relatively recent construction which means all of the furnishings inside are new. It makes for a modern and stylish feel when walking into the hotel. There's plenty of places to sit, work and relax in the lounge and lobby areas of the hotel. The bar operates intermittently including Friday and Saturday night - but not Sundays. Only drinks are offered at the bar. There are NO food options. Despite its modernity, for the entirety of the five days we were staying at the hotel, only one elevator was working and I saw no obvious attempts being made to remedy the situation. It made for some very packed lifts and long waits for one to arrive. As a Titanium guest I was offered a total of 500 points or $20 F&B credit per day. How anyone can choose points is beyond me given that the offer a $20 credit is worth far far more. While others have commented on other review sites how their rooms were noisy if facing the nearby interstate freeway, I was on the 16th floor and faced the Whole Foods parking lot. There was no obvious noise whatsoever apart from when a car alarm went off early one morning. Housekeeping is done every 3rd day... I found this to be unacceptable so I requested my room to be refreshed every day - and it was done so - although my water bottles were never replaced which I thought was a bit of a cheap move. Furthermore, upon trying to use the $20 F&B for breakfast one morning, I was told I could not use the $20 in one go if dining alone. It was either $10 per person, up to two people - not $20 for one! I felt that this policy to be extremely petty! In the end, I was hungry so I did pay for one day of my breakfast buffet - but it cost me $12. Pointless benefit. I would recommend grabbing breakfast at Whole Foods across the parking lot where there is a superb spread laid on for breakfast each morning including a hot buffet. The $20 credit being offered by the hotel is far better used at the little tuck shop next to the reception desk. I didn't make full use of this benefit looking back. Parking at the hotel is an extortionate $56 a day. I parked on the street for free overnight and paid $2/hour for the time I stayed after 8am. The staff at the hotel were warm and welcoming - and even texted me to make sure everything was okay with my stay. Although the hotel describes itself as being 'downtown' - if you really want to visit somewhere like Quincy Market or even reach South Street Station, you need to take an Uber which will cost about $8-10. It's not a huge deal, but it's just not quite as downtown as say, the W - although you can walk easily into the South End and I suppose Back Bay if you felt the need. There are some good restaurants on the street next to Whole Foods and they're open late. Again, for the price point and the modernity of the furnishings, it was an enjoyable place to stay and nice to try somewhere new in the city. It gets my seal of approval!

Dear JamesG_uk, I wanted to let you that the elevator is back in service!! Thank you very much for staying with us and also your long loyalty to Marriott. I am delighted to read your comment and knowing you had a great time among us. Unfortunately one elevator was down during your stay. Otis our vendor did their absolute best to repair the car. However, they faced delays de to supply chain. All the efforts were implemented to fix the issue even if it seems invisible for you. I have circle back with the FB team regarding your F&C credit to ease the process. We cannot wait to welcome you again at the hotel

Our major complaint is that the NAOTA organization that was hosting a conference from Oct 15 -18 supposedly had arranged for special rates for attendees. We signed up early but no matter how we tried, we were unable to get the special rates that were supposed to be around $200/night. Hotel insisted there was no contract with NAOTA. We finally signed up for Senior rate and had to pay $350- 400 a night. Quite expensive for such a small hotel. 3 day room cleaning policy was confusing. Our first room shower backed up so we had to pack and change rooms. Room not vacuumed on 3rd day. There are only two elevators for this 6 story building. One was out the whole week of our Conference. Front desk was polite and helpful but the major drawbacks tarnished our review. Would not stay here again, or recommend it. The best part was being next to Whole Foods!

Dear Jane A, Thank you for your feedback. I am really sorry to hear that you were not fully satisfied with your stay among us. Unfortunately one of our elevator broke down and Otis our vendor had to order a piece. The delay to receive was longer that expected. However our elevator is back in service now. I have reviewed your comments with the Engineer team and Housekeeping to make sure our process are well implemented. We hope you will give us another opportunity to welcome you at the hotel

The valet people are complete jerks. For $59 per night, you think they would at least put a sign up. This was terrible way to start and I'll never stay here again. I get if you're busy, but it wasn't obvious whatsoever. There was no sign that said "brb" or "I'm helping someone else, please wait and I'll return soon" nothing like that. Nothing
