Great location, elegant decor, spacious room with a view of Boylston Street and good quality room service made this a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Restaurant l'Espalier is also excellent and is connected to the property. Understated but attentive hospitality among the staff. Highly recommended.

Loved this property, great rooms, friendly staff, great wine bar, really excellent location. It simply couldn't get any better and that is why it's the Mandarin, you only get the best. Really loved the concierge Jennifer I believe it was, super friendly, like speaking with your best friend for recommendations. The staff really makes you feel that they care!

This was our second weekend stay at the Mandarin Boston. The first time was great and we were excited to go back. The staff is very helpful and the hotel beautiful, although rooms are very dark as there are no ceiling lights. We visited the Spa, and ate at the restaurant inside the hotel. This time however, we are very...

I stayed there for one night as a treat to be away from the kids for my anniversary. It was okay. The downstairs is beautiful, the rooms a bit nondescript for my taste. They don't have a pool. The food was ok, nothing amazing. I was excited they had Foul Mudhammas for breakfast but it was a bit dry and...

The Mandarin Oriental website says that its Boston hotel occupies a “coveted location” and an “enviable setting” on Boylston Street in Boston’s Back Bay. Lies! Boylston Street is a hectic drag jammed with traffic and lined with tourist traps masquerading as Irish pubs. Across Boylston Street from the Mandarin are a Walgreens, a mattress store, and an Asian restaurant that...

From the moment I arrived until the moment I checked out, the Mandarin Oriental was excellent. The room was very large and very comfortable. Nightly turndown service was efficient and helpful. Staff was uniformly excellent. Highly recommended!

Nice ambiance and friendly staff but the hotel rooms look "tired" and a bit outdated -lacks the true "Mandarin Oriental" luxe feel. Very convenient location. Spacious rooms were a big plus but hotel seems more appropriate for people traveling for business than for romantic getaways. Overall a nice stay, probably better than any near by hotels.

My wife and I snuck into the City for a quite night and were not disappointed. The Mandarin is very well located in the heart of the Back Bay, steps from Newbury Street, The Pru and Copley Plaza. Top notch service began with the valet and front desk. We were shown to our room and soon thereafter offered complementary tea...

the rooms are really roomy and spacious. Bathrooms and amenities as good as it gets. There is a great pub on the ground floor and serves nice high quality pub food for a quick snack late at night. Great breakfast as well Try and get a room on the top floor.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
