On her way back to Paris, my sister and I decided to stay at this property well situated on commonwealth. I live in Maine, she lives in France. From the pictures & website it looked magnificent and majestic… but especially the lobby, everything is extremely tiny and small. Service was nice and adequate but nothing outstanding. The Uni restaurant was overpacked, noisy and extremely hot. There was no room at all even just for a drink. Breakfast staff was totally overwhelmed and tables will stay uncleaned and service was totally non existant. I was extremely frustrated by having taken my sister in an hotel which doesn’t stand up for the price paid ( $700 / night!)

Hotel's Favourite
We spent a phenomenal weekend with our adult children to celebrate our wedding. The hotel was phenomenal. Rooms, service etc. But it was the people who worked there who made it an incredible experience. From the doormen to the bellman to the front desk to the reservations people to housekeeping….to a person they could not have been nicer, friendlier or more accommodating. We would go back in a heartbeat. The restaurant UNI catered our wedding and that was beyond expectation as well. They are very well know for their food, but again, it was the people who made it all special. The GM, Event specialist, and serving staff could not have been nicer or more wonderful. It makes you wonder how all of these amazing folks could work at one place. We love The Eliot. And let me say thank you again to all of those special people who made our celebration the best it could be. Thank you. In case I forgot, the rooms are beautiful and authentic, not cookie cutter or all the same. And the food at UNI….amazing doesn’t begin to describe the food.

I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review her stay and for the beautiful compliments and high ratings. It's always an honor when someone chooses to celebrate a momentous occasion, such as a wedding, at our hotel, and I am delighted we were able to create an exceptional experience for such a special stay. Our friendly and genuinely caring staff is committed to ensuring we care for our guests as best as possible. I'm delighted this was evident and that it made a difference. Our Japanese gastropub, UNI, is truly an amazing restaurant that raises culinary arts to the highest level. It's gratifying to know they could also share in the contribution to a "phenomenal wedding weekend."

The Eliot is perfect. It has a bit of the vibe of a European hotel, smaller lobby, lots of helpful people. Very nice suite, heavenly and quiet sleep, great location. Tiny down side: limited room service menu for breakfast. But the Trident Bookstore, with a fabulous breakfast menu, is just around the corner. Also, in case Eliot manager is reading this, your elevator inspection is more than six months out of date.

I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review her stay and for the stellar rating! It really is a combination of our super-convenient location in Boston's elegant Back Bay district, our spacious and comfortable designer suites, and a friendly and caring staff dedicated to personalized service, that together, helps us create such positive stay experiences. Situated on parklike Commonwealth Avenue, the hotel is only 1 block a way from the activity and hub bub of Newbury Street, but our hotel's sound proofed windows allows for a very quiet stay even though we are central to so much in Boston! I'm delighted this guest will "definitely return," and look forward to welcoming her back once again. Thank you for the heads up about the elevator. The elevators have been properly inspected-the city is quite vigilant and timely about such important matters. The updated certificates are now currently in place!

This was a nightmare. Roach in the room; no housekeeping until 7:30 at night; no storage for clothes ; inedible Continental breakfast ($18). Give this hotel a wide berth. You can do much better for the price.

I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review his stay but regret that his experience was so contrary to that of almost all of our other guests. Upon check-in, this guest was provided a complimentary upgrade to a suite. The guest reported he had seen an insect, but our staff was not provided with an opportunity to inspect and the offer to change rooms was declined for some reason. The hotel does not experience any issues with pests and has very active prevention protocols to ensure this remains so. Certainly if an anomalous situation occurred it would understandably have been distressing. The guest received housekeeping services the previous days of his stay. Typically, the only reason a room is not serviced is if the guest unintentionally leaves a "privacy" placard on their door, in which case the request is always respected. The guest reported he had not done so, and we, therefore, apologized for the human error that may have occurred and in acknowledgement of this guest's dissatisfaction, we provided him with a credit to the room charge. Lastly, our popular breakfast buffet is usually received quite positively. I'm not sure what was inedible, but we also adjusted the charge for this guest's breakfast. Although we try hard to ensure our guests have exceptional stay experiences, it is understandable that subjective experiences can vary, and sometimes no amount of effort can be effective in a resolution. I hope, a least, this guest was able to enjoy his time in Boston.

Beautiful room, great location and the staff were amazingly friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. We were fortunate to get a room upgrade but even without that it would have been a really nice experience staying here. Restaurant is quite pricy but food is delicious.

We had an outstanding stay at the Eliot. The customer service was world class and the entire staff went above and beyond for us. It feels like nostalgic old world elegance and service. We got a complimentary room upgrade and the suite was lovely and clean. Highly recommend and we will be back next time we’re in Boston.

I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review their stay and for the stellar rating! In many ways, the Eliot exemplifies the dichotomy of old and new that makes Boston so distinctive. Our building's classical architecture and retro 1920's features, combine with modern room decor and contemporary art. And the newest technologies combine with a classic service approach in which guests are genuinely cared for by our friendly and attentive staff. I'm delighted this was evident for this guest and look forward to welcoming them back once again.

This hotel makes you feel at home. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a great location and I like that it is in an historic building. Breakfast is included at its restaurant each morning. They don’t have a gym but I like that they give you a pass to the BSC.

My friend and I have just checked out of the wonderful Eliot Hotel. From our arrival to departure all staff were professional, helpful and kind, going out of their way to assist and offer helpful tips and advice. A small hotel we were upgraded to a wonderful suite on arrival which was beautiful, well furnished and clean. We loved the ease of access to Newbury Street with lots of great restaurants and shops. Superb stay in a beautiful hotel, with excellent staff throughout, we look forward to returning.
