The hotel rooms are clean and fairly large for downtown. The hotel is literally inside several malls and pretty close to the convention center (7 minute walk). It is about a 20 minute walk to the freedom trail. The food is below par for most Marriotts I have stayed at. The staff was helpful. The elevator system is highly inefficient,...

This hotel was recommended to us and it was perfect for our stay. Great location and we had an amazing view over the city, everything you could need is provided for you and there are ample shopping/dining options. Tour buses stopped both at the hotel and across the road so it was easy to get to see all the sights...

there is nothing else to say about this hotel others than, fantastic serve, great staff, and a location that can't be beat. With its skyway connectors to other hotels, shopping in the mall and restaurants, there's no reason to go anywhere else. The rooms have great views and the room service, coffee delivered in the morning is kick start to...

Stayed here for two nights in late summer of 2014. Was difficult to find, but I attribute that to the city of Boston itself. Once arrived, was greeted by valet and checked in with ease due to elite Marriott privileges. Valet was as price listed with in and out privileges. Hotel room was clean and as a previous reviewer suggested,...

I stay very often in this hotel for business. The room are what you expect from Marriott brand, big with comfortable beds. The bathroom is ok with a basic range of toiletries. The coffee facilities could be improved with a better quality coffee but overall it's ok. The hotel lobby is connected with shops and with a walkway to the...

I've stayed here on numerous occasions during business trips and always come back mainly due to convenience (location) and comfort. Moreover, over the past few years, there's been a noticeable improvement in quality and staff service. Also, the renovations to the Lobby and 1st floor have made the entrance inviting and a lively place to meet with friends and colleagues....

On my many stays here, I've appreciated the convenience of the situation of this hotel, which is probably its strongest point. It's a large hotel which encompasses - via the Reception/Lobby Area, a HUGE sports bar and restaurant, which is very lively especially at the weekends. The lobby is always busy and lively. An escalator takes you up to the...

This place has a great location for all the sites. Use the subway though which has at least three stations within a five minute (or longer if you have a shopper in your group!) walk from hotel. Easy walking to Fenway park for boston Red Sox games. Received a warm welcome on arrival and explained where room was. The room...

We usually stay at Marriott because we are rewards members. Since both daughters have gone to school in Boston, we go often. I like the Renaissance waterfront the best, but the location to my daughter's apartment is closer to Copley, so we stayed there. It is also nice to stay here when the weather starts getting cooler because it connects...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
