My husband and I have stayed many times at the Whitegate Inn. We bring our dog and she loves it there as much as we do. Last month, we stayed for 4 nights in the Guest Cottage. It is perfect with the 2 sided fireplace bringing ambiance to the lving room and bedroom, front porch for reading and relaxing and...

The inn is nestled in a lovely garden of flowers and a babbling stream. Close to the city of Asheville itself, one can easily stroll to town. The main home is tastefully decorated in antiques. I stayed in the cottage which was to be smoke-free and was not. The room was sprayed with fragrance to cover up the stale smoke...

Having a guest dissatisfied for any reason is not acceptable if it can be prevented. The WhiteGate Inn’s staff and owners take a lot of pride in providing the best in guest experiences. Here are the facts. This guest was a single woman in Asheville on business who stayed for 3 nights in our Oscar Wilde Suite. She did not...

The 1889 Whitegate Inn was in my opinion the best in lodging and the food was top shelf. I didn't know what to expect since this was my 1st bed and breakfast but I will stay there again my next trip to Ashville. I traveled with my father-in-law and he was also ashtonished. Not only do they have the house...

There are not enough platutides to offer after staying at the 1889 White Gate Inn. Frank & Ralph run a first class B&B. Their Staff is attentive to all guests needs. The 3 course breakfast is one heck of a great way to begin the day, not just the terrific food but Frank manages to make breakfast a social and...

Our three nights at the White Gate was memorable. Ralph and Frank were wonderful hosts and the rest of the staff was competent and friendly. It is in a good location, close to down town but secluded because of Ralph’s wonderful gardens. We stayed in the cottage so that we could sit on the porch and smoke. The breakfasts were...

Conveniently located to downtown, an easy walk if you prefer. We stayed in the Robert Frost room and it was neatly appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and it was nice to have a cabinet to store toiletries as well as a wire shelf unit to place any additional items. An older post referenced the antique...

The WhiteGate Inn is the epitome of the bed and breakfast experience. The staff is friendly and helpful and genuinely enjoy what they do. Of course they're very knowledgeable about the area, restaurants, things to see, etc. The house is wonderfully restored, clean, open, inviting. The living areas are places you actually want to linger -- much more than just...
