We found The Lion and The Rose to be a so-so place--great location, friendly folks, but low average accomodations and food. Our room was pleasant, but the bed mattress was old and uncomfortable. Coffee was available early (and was good) but breakfast was simply not good. Unlike many B & Bs in the Asheville area, there was no social time/wine/etc....

Thank you for taking the time to review our inn, and we appreciate you choosing us for your stay in Asheville. I am sorry I was not here to meet you, I had planned a few days away before the fall rush. A three star review for us is rare and definitely affects our ranking, but I appreciate your honesty...

This B&B is a treat. Located in the Montford historic district (surrounded by beautiful homes and lush landscaping), it's a short (15-min.) walk to downtown Asheville. We stayed in the Fannie Rice Room on the 2nd floor. The furnishings were lovely, the AC in the room functioned very well, and we heard essentially no noise. Breakfast is at 9 am...

Beautiful and spotless furnishings. Attentive and gracious hosts. Epicurean breakfasts. And a location on a pleasant street that's a short drive or a 15-minute walk to downtown. If you're searching for a pleasant and memorable base of operations that's also relaxing, look no further.

I traveled to Asheville to attend a concert at the Biltmore House and visited The Lion and The Rose B & B. For starters, the yard and porch were comfortable and welcoming and in the evening after dinner, we sat out by the fire pit and enjoyed a beautiful mountain night. The home was clean and the young innkeepers Lisa...

What a joy to find this Bed and Breakfast in Asheville! We took a chance on the reviews and were very pleased with our stay. It is a beautiful Inn, our room was perfect (Marion), and it is close to everything. We felt like we were staying with friends. Lisa and Madelyn served mouth-watering gourmet breakfasts each day, and we...

My daughter and I stayed at this B&B a few weeks ago when traveling thru Asheville. We had a great stay! We had a warm welcome upon arrival and given a tour of the home. There is a fridge in the kitchen that is stocked with water and soft drinks and you able to put your own leftovers/drinks etc in...

You will not be disappointed if you stay here... I cannot wait to go back. Just got back from a girls trip there. Lisa and Madelyn are so sweet and accommodating. The location is perfect - so close to everything but also on a quiet street so it is very peaceful. The actual B and B is so clean and...

Driving up to the house is quite a sight! The lawn is spacious and I ended up spending some time sitting on the front porch just looking at the landscape. Our room was exactly what we needed with a nice big bed and great A/C to cool us from the summer heat. Last but not least, our breakfast was phenomenal!...

We spent one night there and thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. Liza and her daughter have done an excellent job on this charming house and they make one feel welcome and at home. Amazing breakfast. We will be recommending it to our friends as a must
