We recently stayed at the Carolina Bed and Breakfast in Asheville. It was lovely. James, one of the owners was great. I don't think we met Susan- maybe briefly. He was helpful with suggestions for activities and restaurants. The breakfasts were delicious. As were the...More

We had one of the best weekend trips ever thanks to Susan and James. The neighborhood is very charming and quiet. Very close to downtown Asheville. The rooms are cosy and with a lot of character. The food is excellent. We will surely return!
Out of this world service, hospitality, and food. The food you will receive here is not only an amazing breakfast, but also a full assortment of homemade hor d'oeuvres and wine in the afternoon. Susan also leaves some homemade sweets in each room in the...More
The Carolina Bed and Breakfast must be one of the best, if not the best, B & B in Asheville. My wife and I enjoyed every minute of our 3-night stay. Susan and James welcomed us warmly and were a mine of information during our...More

Thank you for your inquiry.
Our B&B is about three miles from the entrance to the Biltmore Estate. It is another four miles from the entrance to the house. You can take a taxi there but unfortunately the Biltmore does not have any form of transportation inside the Estate. Asheville itself has limited public transportation. For the most part you will need a car to really benefit from all the city has to offer. And there is a lot! Besides the Biltmore, downtown Asheville (a short walk from the Carolina B&B) is considered to be a architectural jewel in addition to be filled with independent boutiques and restaurants. Three miles from downtown area in the opposite direction is our River Arts District, full of artist's studios and galleries. Then, of course, there is the Blue Ridge Parkway with it's stunning vistas of the Mountains, accessible both by car and for hiking. Outside the city, farms and farmer's markets abound.
I hope this helps!
